Way back on June, 25, I purchased a new Nike VRS Covert 2.0 driver.  It is supposed to be good for 282 yards.  I'm not saying it won't drive the distance because it does but since day one, it has always and only shown 240 yards from every tee box.  I am constantly stretching the line out to make up the 40+ yard difference.  Same thing with my 3 wood, a Callaway X2 Hot I bought back on Aug. 26.  Good for 240 yards but the line has always been only 230 yards.

I've sent in many reports over the last 2 months asking for this to be fixed (all on my driver)...to no avail.  What do you want from me that I've not already given to correct this?  More time?  Is this problem that difficult of a repair?

Some may consider this trivial and they're entitled.  But I'm past that stage.  If it isn't supposed to be this way, then why is it this way?  Am I the only one to report this?

    Sorry if I sound frustrated...but I am!

Thank you for any response(s) here.

These are the default settings and will most likely never be changed. I think the longest distance from pin, where the marker will be, is 245y. You have to move it to set direction anyway. And the direction is the only thing you need, it doesn't matter if the marker is 5 yards from the tee box, as long as it is pointing the right way ;-)

There are a couple of these default yardages and they change for different range of distances, depending on the length of your driver (example, if you use the starter, the default distance will be less than 240 you are seeing now).

Same with the 3w, 240y drivers will have the marker set at 230, my 245y BB has it at 235. Again, you have to move the marker anyway to aim your shot, so it makes zero difference whether or not it's set at 230 or 240 y mark.

It's always been like that for me.  It doesn't matter what driver I use, the aiming mark always defaults to 240 yds.

To be honest though....it's like the big crack in the windshield of my truck.  Until someone says something, I don't even notice.

Yes 240 is the default setting, you can ignore it and concentrate ot L/R alignment.

Howver if you do push the marker till it shows red, that will indicate the potential distance of the club assuming perfect alignment, hitting the ding and wind effect

Ok,  I'll take your word for it as I suspected I wasn't alone...just never saw any other complaints here.  Still makes absolutely no logical sense for it to be this way.

Thank you John.  I don't mean to sound snide, but as a Legend, I've understood this since my hacker days.

    This!

It has been odd for me how often a camera is placed on top of the default marker position, making it difficult to move it...

For me it's good practice to move the marker forward to +-300 yds to have better control over the landing zone. +50 yds may mean trouble, given the randomness of the direction.

Yes, makes no sense to us.  But perfect sense to the accountants at WGT.

At 240 it further disguises the fact the WGT caddy has given you Driver on the long par 3s when 3w is needed.

If it were changed to 280, 285 or 290 our default marker would be in the woods on BPB 3, in the fescue on the RSG par 3s.  Providing a red flag to us to change to 3W.

That would cause a significant decrease in the WGT Daily Lost Ball stat.
