Bugs, glitches, lack of realism welcome to WGT (or WTF)

  WGT runs smoothly for most players at least 50% of the time. Fortunately there is a team of people who once in a blue moon do something that is beneficial for the game like adding applause (giant leap for WGTkind). While people pour their cash into a dare-one-say unreliable and pretty shoddy-at-times browser game it's comforting to know that their are people out there with are best (financial) interests at heart.

  One of my favourite things about the game is this label; 'the most realistic golf game on the web', the addition of giant flags was a novelty...

  WGT realism at its finest. But when all is said and done whether you love it or hate it it's usually addiction, online friends and a commitment to our country clubs that brings many of us back regardless of the many flaws and frustrations with the game or despite the non-existent customer service from WGT, the lack of willingness to respond to great ideas or the tendency to ignore problems completely and hope that a non-response will cause objections to die down.

  We can only hope that some of the many glitches over time will be fixed but WGT is sitting in the driving seat and we are just a paying passenger along for the ride.

  I'd be delighted at this time merely to have a meter that doesn't stutter. 99% of the time I have absolutely no problems with the gameplay. As of last night, irrespective of the browser type, my meter stutters all the way down and stops well after I've clicked.

  The game is almost unplayable for me and there is no obvious reason why this is the case......

  Meter stutter is THE number one complaint of most players on WGT. There isn't one obvious reason why it happens but several possible reasons which won't necessarily be the same for all players.

  T.P.S. - Technology, Performance, Speed.

  Technology being WGT and Adobe. Performance being your device capability. Speed being the internet connection.

  WGT and Adobe can improve their technology to provide a more stable, reliable and faster game (i.e smoother meter) but sometimes these technologies have a few issues.

  Players can improve their performance by optimizing their systems, making sure external and unnecessary background programs aren't running, clearing the cache etc.

  Internet speed should be consistent. A consistent average speed is better than fast, slow, fast, slow. If you share internet it can run slower at your local peak times. Of course a consistent high internet speed is best.

  There's also the speed of communication to the servers. Peak time for their US customer base may also affect performance.

  Even if you have your system optimized for performance and have high-speed internet you can't 100% eliminate meter stutter but the frequency of it occurring should be significantly reduced compared with those who have low performance systems, low or intermittent internet speeds or just don't take the steps to try to prevent it.

  iv got the ping g20 3wood 

  had for while i want to sell it.

  iv unequipted it from my bag

  and keep gettin message sayin "cant sell equipped clubs"

  what can i do???

  Unfortunately all of the suggestions you make I do already so it's down to either my internet speed or a server issue. Why it's become a problem yesterday and today when previously it's consistently good is a mystery. Really hacks you off though when you have bracket ties to play, fighting the meter on every single shot only leads to poor scoring and lost credits.....

  Unequip it in the game client window - My Equipment > Select the Ping G20 3Wood > Click the Equipped tick box to Unequip > Select an alternative Wood and put it in the slot > click 'Save Changes'

  Go to My Profile > Click Equipment > Click Sell Equipment.

  Any equipment you have equipped can not be sold, all unequipped items will have a tick box beside them and can be sold by checking the box and clicking 'continue' at the bottom of the page.

  If you go through these steps and it's 'not working' trying clearing your browser cache, closing the game and reopening it and following the steps again.

  If you try this and it still doesn't work then send an email to WGT explaining. I think it's members@worldgolftour.com (but not sure if that's for WGT nation members only?)

  Yeah, I know it's frustrating. Particularly when there's credits involved...

  Personally I've never bought a ball for myself since I started playing (just learned how to play well with the starter) and I never gamble credits on ready-gos or paid brackets etc.

  Since starting I always recongnized that a game like this was vunerable to attacks and cheating and the platform and technology was not stable or reliable enough to always guarantee smooth performance. Thus increasing the risk of loss substantially.

  As a result I've spent far less than most players on WGT (excluding the types that play with starter clubs to level 100) and enjoy playing free club tournaments, brackets, WGT tournies and multi-player games and the occassional premium club tournament when the entry fee is low.

  Playing with a starter ball can be tough but you once you get used to it it becomes second nature. Spending on balls and passes and paying entry fees for WGT hosted premium tournaments may give you an advantage or even a win but it's also a gamble.
