I have a 2 inch putt to finish an 18 hole round on St. Andrews...have made about 20 attempts to make the putt to finish round, and at every attempt get the unexpected error screen and the game shuts down...has been so long now I'm in fear of losing points for my CC and losing a pass and consecutive days played bonus...

Maybe it's a tourney that ended before you finished the round?
I have had that before, and IIRC, it didn't affect game play until I tried to finish the last putt of the round. Could have saved some hits on the ball too. ;-)
