I wan't really going to bring it up, but since the subject is here...I played against a guy in match play that was an amature...but had clubs that were clearly above his level.  I still won the match...but I'm not sure how he acquired them. I don't think he had been around long enough to have acquired them prior to the WGT switch...so could they have been gifted?

no probably has been playing tonnes of games and getting lvld up on  drinks longwedge And i  dont bother  checking stats for MP games  i just jump right in check the bets if a amateur is a real amatuer hes not going 2 place a bet for 500 creds a MP game unless hes got stacks of dollars he dont care about wasting...

Didn't help me in the least little bit.  What I'm saying is that the clubs were clearly above his level.  He was like a level 21 and he was using level 40+ clubs...just wondering if they could have been gifted to him.

I have some high price clubs, but I bought them before WGT switched. But I don't have alot of time playing here. I'm on a real course most of the time & don't have alot of time to spend here (except in the winter). This could explain this?

He probably obtained them before the update where the levels were introduced.

Or he purchased them immediately after the level update was enacted.  WGT had a sale for 48 hours (I believe) where those players who were bumped up a tier virtually overnight could quickly buy equipment to match their tier, even though they weren't even close to the necessary level.

I bought my driver this way after rudely being bumped up to Master.  Even though I'm not anywhere near the level I need to attain to buy it now.  Make sense?

DMM a lot of people either got their clubs then or like me grabbed them during the closeout sale shortly before the update. The ones that didn't get their clubs during the 48 hour sale were too busy whining about getting bumped up to notice that the sale was going on.

ya i agree. its unfair that wgt allows this. i feel the level system is a bunch of BS. what they need to do is have a level system based off of skill level, and not how much you play the game. Personally, im tired of losing to amateurs with good equipment. they shud only be able to play with starters clubs, until they become a pro. Also, the status of being a tour pro is also questionable for most players. when i became a master the game changed for me. gets more difficult. these tour pros of level 45 or greater are simply keeping their avgs down so they do not have to tee off from the reals tees. i have 2 solutions to this. 1) avg means nothing. level shud be solely based on skill level. for instance, im a 68 avg. i shud only be able to get to level 50 until i get better. tour pros shud not be able to get past level 40sumthin and amateurs shud not be able to pass level 20. 2) everyone tees from the same spot in match play challenge.

oh and i agree again.  wgt shud have never converted to the level system.  its not fair to ppl who were masters before hand.  the game was fine how it was.  only buy equipment that is sold at ur skill level.  this level bull *** means nothing....
