My club ( Florida Anglers Memorial G.C.)  has almost 230 members but only 10 or 15 are fairly active in tournaments, Is it best to just leave them, or delete them from the club?

    Delete them m8

You will be better off cutting your numbers and trying to get more active players

its quality not quantity you need

    Good luck

If they don't play, they're not really "members" are they?

If they're not playing, they don't really want to be there anyway.. Cut'em loose.

Loads of 200 plus clubs with less than 10% playing, ridiculous. We were over 50 and culled to 20 and are back up to 48. Cull will be done again as approx 26 or so playing (more than 50% so not bad). Thing is we have good forum comps and only have the cc ones mainly for those who dont or cant be bothered to read our forum. So cull the wasters mate and keep a small happy active bunch

EDIT Just looked at your last tourny, yes its only open 24 hrs but you the only one played, wow mate, time to get the boots polished.

I just really don't know what people's expectations are when they join a club.. Whatever they are, they seem to lose interest almost immediately upon joining.

Maybe we should start a Forum CC.. lol.. at least most of the folk who come in here are sociable.. and seem to take the community aspect seriously.

I agree ISH , there was another discussion on forum regarding the fact WGT say millions play this game as they have millions singed up. Mmmmmm maybe not the case. I put my name in search and out of the first 70 or so folk using Bubbs, only about 12 had progressed past Hack. Others who take time out on these forums did the same. We have the odd 1 or 2 who have been members for years and go on sabaticals so thats fine but some other clubs have many of them. Lets all join one big happy country club corner cc, any ideas for a name folks lol

To me this brings up a question I have often wondered: Why do club owners get testy about members who aren't active? I mean, if a club has even one open spot, what's the point in getting rid of anyone? From a practical standpoint, maybe having a 25 spot cushion would be better than just one, but what advantage is there to the club to kick out anyone before they get to the edge of full?

Club owners want club play. Why? Do club owners make money on club activity? Can anyone answer that? Do club owners make money on club play?

WGT has added free Putter Pal and Shot Pal to clubs, and that gives a bigger incentive to players to join a club. Especially a higher level club. Otherwise that stuff isn't free.

WGT has added these "Passes" which can increase a club's points somehow, but add nothing to the player except some incentive to finish the game he/she is using the pass on. If Playing Alt-Shot with the pass, and another player quits, one loses the pass.

And why are almost all of the tournaments confined to the courses with the most chances to lose a ball? Rarely do we see the front 9 of Congressional, the front 9 of Bethage, the front 9 of Kia, or the front 9 of St. Andy's in either the regular Weekly and Monthly Tournaments or the Ready Go Tournaments.

Not only does WGT take a usurious 20% for electronically offering the Ready Go games, but the games are mostly presented on high risk courses like Congressional back 9. The more water holes the better chance to make a quick $2.00.

I avoid those courses and ready go tournaments because they are worse odds than playing in Vegas.

My last gripe is why can't they program this game to permanently archive my preferences as regards sound? And permanently opting out of the ridiculous Par 3 HOI Challenge? I have wasted thousands of clicks turning that stuff off.

That being said, I still love the challenge. Wish my meter was more reliable, though.

LOL.. Bubbs, if I wasn't so loyal to my owner and small group of friends in my club I'd start one today.. We'd call it the Forum Trolls Golf Club and Winery.   :)

    ANSWER
Owners get testy because it takes a lot of time and effort to run a CC especially those of us that run websites too. There are no financial rewards at all for running a CC apart from knowing that something you have take a lot of time and effort to set up is being enjoyed and supported by those who have signed up to it. It makes no sense updating a website and putting 200 + scores and names down if 150 are not even doing anything , that is why they get kicked out and the clubs dont get filled with non active players. The reason Activity is very important is because most people to play this game have some kind of competitive spirit in them and like to do well and entering club tourneys where a lot of players have taken part makes for good competition, rather than playing against one man and his dog.
i Hope that answers your question Soogy
