For some odd reason he started two posts with almost the same title and the same opening post. In the other one folk managed to get similar points over to him without the same bile or need for vicious wall posts (don't know why he removed it), strange that.

    WGT, please close this.

Theres a post somewhere else which i asked for an end to  regarding a horse/war veteran charity. That rumbled on and got quite personal. Funny enough the names on that and this are quite similar ;-). Forums are good crack but sometimes a tad naughty, keep ya balls dry folks.

What kind of balls does it take to quit?

    WGT Starters?

It looks as though this was released in August 2014 on Steam for a mere $34.99 USD, too...hmm.

HB Studios produced the game. They have been in the video game biz for years and have some well known releases.

Nice intro music, I must say. The graphics are phenomenal. Course creation capabilities and wind modeling, too. Multi-player functionality, etc,.etc. The 1.0 release notes.

    Let me reiterate - hmm.

The Golf Club is very good but very different than WGT. That's another positive IMO. I think WGT members should play it as well as remaining members here. The best thing about competition is not having to choose one over the other.  Choose both and be happy. :)

    Multi-player functionality

I missed that part. In fact, reading the reviews about this product one of the complaints was that there wasn't this functionality. It doesn't look to me like they're targeting the same audience as WGT is. It isn't browser golf and Fatdan's point about the video card requirements is unfortunate. For me, anyway.

The community here was one of Chad's goals and that pretty much revolves around the ability to interact with other golfers on the course. Having to pony up $35 or so to begin with puts that game in a different class. That's not to take anything away from HB's efforts, they're just going after a different part of the market.

CD's point about enjoying both is a good one but I'm personally not about to buy a desktop with a monster video card to play it. Plus, having to actually download something and install it on a local machine defeats the purpose of browser golf.

I play both (The Golf Club and WGT) and spend most of my time (99%) on WGT.  Says "something" about my preferences.

I agree with what I saw someone else post on this subject a while back...
