I would like to suggest a serious downgrade in level everytime a player quits a multiplayer game, maybe with a first and second warning. It really kills the fun for me playing multiplayer if in 9/10 of the games some jerk ends the game before its over.

Only play with people you know. Fellow CC members, or players on your friend's list. There is a disconnect problem in multi-player games, too. Sometimes, maybe it isn't the player's fault.

My suggestion has been for WGT to put a withdraw icon on the screen. I have no problem with players who forfeit and the game continues on. Most are just too lazy or stupid to understand that. They just disconnect causing delays, etc. I rarely get into multiple player games for that reason alone. I usually throw crap on the rude quitters wall but many others have as well.

Building up a friends list of reliable people is the way forward. Then just play with those and country club members.

I will either leave or boot a player with an orange (poor) completion rate, and I'm starting to get to the point where I don't play yellows either.  If you play randoms, there's no way to avoid 100% of the quitters out there, but you can tip the scales in your favor.

Also, while I don't keep charts or notes on wind and club lengths and etc. etc. etc., I do keep one WGT file on my computer - my DNP list.  It's chock full of quitters, cheaters, and poor sports.  It wouldn't hurt to keep one open on your desktop while you play, and just do a quick cross-reference before you commit to a game.

You darn right! Michael is right on the money. Being sick is bad enough, but both SICK & TIRED is too much to endure.

There is no predicting which players will quit other than to know that all players will quit.  And I get that people lose their connections.  I used to lose them regularly. But when a player dumps a ball in the lake and writes "F**k this" in the chat window before quitting, I bet it wasn't his internet connection.

Just nearly finished a CTTH blitz game, except all 3 players quit, just as soon as they realized they weren't going to win.

They were zerox518, followed by ddouglas533, followed by adamchap. And guess who gets the same negative impact to their quit rate? Me.

I'm finished with multiplayer games.  I might as well be playing this game offline for all the interactivity I can look forward to.

Yep. Same here. I now only play unknown players that have a green completion check mark. No yellows or oranges, though most yellows I have played in the past finished the game.

I keep a list of players I play with and note the quitters so I know not to play with them again.

I only allow green players to join games I create. If everyone did the same, the quitters would have no choice but to play each other and see how they like a taste of their own medicine.
