    VanHalenLover:

Seems some old players show up in the players search and some don't. I wonder if they stay in the 'user' directory (same as one used for active players) until a certain time frame of inactivity, and then get moved to the 'members' directory after that time frame of inactivity...... maybe a space saving archive?

You can get to any profile, disabled or otherwise, by searching for a post in the forums with the ID and then clicking on that ID in the post.

yup, we've covered that before - I'm looking for info specific to the two different directories that profiles are stored in, and whether this is what affects our ability to search for player profiles.

    Same examples:

    http://wgt.com/members/tibbets/default.aspx

Tibbets is stored in the 'members' directory, and unavailable through a member search

    http://wgt.com/user/Profile.aspx?UserID=897993

My profile is under the 'user' directory, and I am available via members search....

    good catch also b0gey,

Wonder what the difference is between the 'user' directory and the 'members' directory? Seems some old players show up in the players search and some don't. I wonder if they stay in the 'user' directory (same as one used for active players) until a certain time frame of inactivity, and then get moved to the 'members' directory after that time frame of inactivity...... maybe a space saving archive?

    ie; my current profile path:

    http://wgt.com/user/profile.aspx?UserID=897993

    and Tibbetts:

    http://www.wgt.com/members/tibbets/default.aspx

and here is the lowest id value I could find for anyone in the user path, anyone know of any smaller values still active? I'd like to see the smallest, just out of curiosity, it might show us the longest active player!

    http://wgt.com/user/profile.aspx?UserID=30551

for what it is worth, here is mine...

Tibbetts joined WGT 3 days before me.....but I am no where near the player that he is/was.  Like all the older players...we always saw his name at the top of almost every list.

But you are also under the 'members'.   As we all are.

How long have you been inactive VHL?

So then, does tibbets also still have profile pages under each directory?

Obviously active players do, and obviously searching for them by name, or linking to them via the forums loads different profile pages. Such as:

clicking your name in the forums loads this:

    http://wgt.com/members/andyson/default.aspx

and searching for you using the 'wgt community -> wgt players' search option, loads this:

    http://wgt.com/user/profile.aspx?UserID=614946

Both are the exact same thing. What on earth would wgt need two copies of our profile for? And again, does removing the entry from the 'user' directory remove that player from being accessible through the search option?

Never been, save for some off days between rounds. Not sure what you found so funny about that, as your .gif might suggest?

Sadly, Tibbets was lost to us forever when the Andrea Doria burst into flames and crashed to the ground while trying to land in a lightning storm at Lakehurst, New Jersey.

    Oh, the humanity.....

Not sure of the relevance of I.D number to longevity on WGT

    I.D 39040 join date 21 May 2007 where as I.D 30551 join date 01 Oct 2008.

Maybe it's a throwback to the previous game

There are no "2 copies", of course.    Just 2 URLs (addresses) pointing to the same webpage. A trivial and common thing on the Internet.

    the Andrea Doria

I was just watching On the Waterfront the other day and didn't think it was such a masterpiece as it's hyped up to be; the authors' agenda was all too palpable.
