  Go to your profile page, View All for your friends list, right click on the ones you want to delete to open them in a separate window, then Remove Friend and close each window one by one.

  This speeds things up slightly by not having to navigate to the often slow-loading friends' pages one by one from the friend status menu on the left.

  Quick tip : Hold down CTRL and left click on each friend to open their profile page in a new tab.  : )

  Is it?  I have Chrome, Maxthon and IE and it does the same thing in all.

  Two out of three for me ... my Max save the friend icon to my pictures folder for some reason. :(

   

  **edit** 3 4 3 ... seems I had an option checked in web content
