  Someone please explain this. I don't see any logical explanation, so maybe Yancy can provide the TRUTH. Also, it is much clearer and easier to watch on Youtube. Just click the words Baffled and Confused in white above the video. It will open on another page.

  I just put clips together to shorten it.

  Looks like you missed the fairway on your drive even tho it said you were on the fairway,tough spot there,,, ...just my observation....you should have an administrator look at this,it is weird........

  Nope - the indication is "Fairway" after the drive, also no %% is shown on the second. It's hit close to the ding.

  Perhaps the 2nd caught a bit of Uneven Lies, or it was a true Mega WTF shot.

  That it was. I did, luckily, get a par, which is probably as good as I would've gotten anyway, but at least if the ball had traveled further, I may have gotten close enough to attempt a birdie.

  Just tried to replicate your shot Jay and got more or less the same result, so I would guess its the location. Rather like being stuck in one of the humps in front of the bunkers at Oakmont, had shots go backwards from those lies.  : (

  Replay.

  Oddly, when I was getting my ball to the correct spot for the shot, about 1 yard to the left the lie indicated it was rough and I would have thought going further right would still be rough, another WGT anomaly.

  Ball has hit a flying dove. Shot comes short, dove is dead. Simple and sad story.

  I will explain: once you are on an upslope that is steeper than the launch angle of your 3wd, you will plough your shot straight into the hill in front of you which takes all the pace off it.

  You will get that result time and time again from that steep upslope at RSG. Never hit a shot with less than full backspin from there. If in doubt, don't hit the 3wd either.
