Just played at Oly a UEL match game...no backspin from the tee hole 13 (par 3).

Well, the post above mentioned WGT is aware of the problem this time.

Yes, just to re-assure you guys, I have been in email contact with WGT support on this issue, with several emails back and forth to give them more info on the possible "no backspin" bug.

If any of you feel you can, if you have had this problem of no backspin (even with the normal "backspin" ball dot set to full or much backspin), shoot WGT support an email with as much detail as you can.

That way, I am sure they will get enough data to find the problem and fix it.

Either way, they may already have enough data to find and fix it as it is.

I guess it would be nice for WGT admin, if they do find and fix this problem, to maybe send us a reply here?

Otherwise I can see me being paranoid for the next 200 rounds that the backspin will suddenly fail again, lol.

Are you seeing it intermittently or all the time?

A long time ago there was a no spin bug that affected the next player on the tee after a conceded hole. Didn't happen all the time but was really obvious when it did to the point where conceding a hole didn't happen during matches. Doubt they're related but it sounds like what's happening here.

I was having some BS issues last night too.. Didn't think too much of it until I saw this thread but I can confirm the bug is real.

I'm really thinking this is not a "bug" at all but rather something WGT purposely put in place to aid in ball sales. More strokes = more ball sales. Correct?  The shots we spent months or years to learn seem like a crap shoot now. Sometimes normal and sometimes just unbelievably off.

The 64 Cleve pitch has always been my favorite shot, but it's got to the point where I have no idea how it will react anymore. It seems more apparent everyday that WGT is for $$$ only and will stop at nothing to achieve that goal. I have zero issue with a shot going bad if it's hit wrong....that's life in golf, here or on the real course, but BS manipulation of a well hit ball is growing old for me and many friends.

BTW.... Your invite system is still fkd as well WGT. A friend invited me steady for 5 mins.tonight and nothing showed on my screen.  This site needs some work.....Soon !

The reason I said bug was because it only happened to me last night.. Today I haven't had any issues with BS.

Yep..  I can see your point with changes to the rough.. it's frustrating to say the least.

Fine you wanted to add " more realism " to the game....let's take out the backspin on shots from the rough...not a problem I can learn to deal with it.  Could you please put it back into shots from the fringes at St Andy's. Olympic, and Pinehurst...thank you

On a separate note for added realism how about fixing the wind to a course map.. if the wind is  blowing north on a hole where you can the next tee box but is suddenly blowing dead south from the tee box that you just looked at... I would say that is not real...  look t St Andy's #16 #17 and #18....

It happened 3 holes out of 9 in a 9-hole skins match I played yesterday. On the 4th, then some hole 2 or 3 after, and then the 9th, Kiawah island, and all three were the second approach shot to the green, from the fairway, between 147 and 188 yards. All three shots had my usual 3/4 to full bs depending on the wind. In the skins, I don't remember anything funky going on before the 1st "No backspin" glitch, although from memory one player may have picked up prior to thatt hole where it first happened. The last hole, 2 of the four players had forfeited, one 2 holes prior and 1 just one hole prior.

I have played only one CTTH single player game since then (WGT virtual tour CTTH), with no issues, so I can't comment on how regular the issue could be and if it is peculiar to multiplayer/match/skins games or not.

Who knows what is the cause behind this issue? It isn't conceding holes in my case, as you mention YankeeJim, but the permutations of pick-ups and forfeits in my skins game alone makes me glad I just play wgt, not try and debug it.

There is good logic to what you say, Romax. I have recently formed the opinion that meter stuttering or glitches might be by design as well. It creates a greater statistical variance in players scores, keeps people interested in the game when things DO go well. I mean, if after many years we all have good gear, have mastered most of the art of the game to a point where shooting low scores with a hypothetically consistent meter becomes the norm - what is left? The game becomes boring and wgt loses customers. I mean, a glitchy meter means that when things go well, it's a buzz; likewise the normal frustration keeps me striving to play and "improve".

Just a theory mind you. Just my 0.02 cents worth of WGT conspiracy. I think (or hope) I am wrong of course.
