And I'm assuming they will release it at 11:59:59pm PST on the 10th.

LOL, was my thinking as well, except I was thinking "by 11:59.59" instead of "at".  Afterall, it just says that it will be "released on 12/10"  not 'available for play on 12/10'.

Not that I didn't have my hopes up for a new course today.  More so for the entertaining reads in the forums while at work.  ;-)

H read it again released on the 10th for practice rounds

Right,  I get what you are saying.  Just meant that it only says on the 10th,  but not any specific time on the 10th.   Wish there was a sarcasm font.  :)

Where we all may be hoping that at 12:01 am on the 10th we'd have the new course, but realistically they could release it sometime on the 10th.

Clarification from them would be nice, but for me, I can't play at work right now but I can pop in a few replies here and there.  If the course was available right this second, I'd be tempted at using a sick day lol.

I just wish they had opened it earlier to work out any bugs.

What I wish is that WGT would make bug-free releases a priority. There is no excuse for the number, type and severity of bugs that show up on virtually every release. Many of these bugs would be prevented simply by loading each page on the web site and game client and verifying the contents. I just hope nothing crops up in this release that affects the outcome of the championship.

Just stumbled across these two threads from 2 years ago today.  lol

    12/5/12

Then just 5 days later on 12/10/12

Maybe that's what they are doing this time?  Working on some QA before the next release.

Jim  when have you ever not seen a 3-4 down time for a new course?

Let me turn this into a progress lesson for you, Gary. Maybe WGT's making some. We've seen how many courses released in our time-9? Maybe 6 or 7 for you? Think of how they were released. Usually a CTTH teaser, then maybe the front 9 or the full 18 and well in advance of the main event. A couple of years we got lucky by finding back doors to stroke play way before WGT intended. (Since fixed-couldn't get there at PH.) Lots of time to get the players to find the bugs, etc., while qualifying and playing a ton of rounds on the course. Pretty thorough test in advance of the main event. That has changed.

The main event was the VT where only 4 players make it, not 156 plus ties. They have PB in place, we just can't see it. Why do you think they took the PB CTTH away when they did? Something was up, IMO, and then finding out PB has been in the can for quite a while-way longer than the 6 months they say it takes to get in into play- all leads me to believe WGT replaced that 2 month "debugging" Open qualifying with their own internal debugging and elected not to use the players to debug it. . This is just a WAG but makes sense to me.

Now the time it takes to open the course up becomes something like a maintenance update. Icon will give you the HI sign.  :-)

p.s., Probably all wet and full of holes but better than getting one's knickers looking like a fishing line tangle. :-)

It's also possible that the new course just isn't ready for the play-off .  All will be revealed soon.
