Everybody knows about the problems with quitters and multi-player stroke games freezing because of disconnections.
You'll never be 100% sure if the disconnections are a result of people not satisfied with their playing, real life emergencies or computer problems.
In any case I think waiting five minutes for a disconnected matchplay opponent to return to the game (it happens but not too often) is four minutes too long.
With so many quitters out there you may have to check that bloody clock counting down 5 minutes several times a day. The only alternative, I guess is to forfeit the game yourself and lose the game...
