L100 Nike Vapor Iron Yardage Issue? Now resolved:)

  Is it me having a bad day.  Not discussed yet with anyone, just thought wtf on a few long iron approaches, and so went to test:

  4 iron being tested, and 3 iron last of all

  198 yards with a 4 iron Neutral spin full bore 4 iron whacking a L90 Nike distance ball.  The only shot that seemed correct was the 3 iron with FBS.  OK that was a yard or two shorter than expected, but just one hit that way and fine of half consistent.

  hi

  1st  approach on #10 landed on the fringe, hence in initial high bounce.

  2nd full bs is 198bs carry. 

  3rd 225bs carried 219

  4th 225 ns carried 210 + roll

  which behavior did you find weird?

  1st - 4iron neutral spin carry dist 200 yards, and should be around 210 easy

  2nd 4 iron FBS - yes 198 prob about fine

  3rd 3 iron FBS 209 yep about fine

  4th  3 iron 210 carry is less than would usually expect

  1st seems odd though??

  I will retest at Kiawah having cleared cache again.

  EDIT: If you go over to my twitch broadcasts the v last vid shows my 4 iron carrying 206 straight in to a 2-4MPH headwind with neutral spin.  Vids are a good average of what I thought I was seeing in a round earlier.  

  I will have a few more goes.  Very probably me having a senior moment, not loads off at worst and probably just fine.  Love the meter speed I will say that.

  WTF  3000 plus posts   Your test is try these news irons out on 1 hole   Wow Nike Ping Callaway etc etc must be be gutted they let your method of testing slip through their fingers   LMFAO

  Yea, and his 3000+ rounds vs your 800 or so means that he is familiar with what the shots usually do.  Being that the new Nike irons have the save yardages and spin specs as the L97 , they should play pretty darn the same as far as yardage.

   

  Move along all, nothing to see here.

  Half a cell more you might have checked a few things, but then that would be a whole half plus the 1.

  Jeez ask a ? not vilifying anything and some one who knows naught terms up with advice having shown her inability to even read the text...

  One of them owns the clubs. The other is just renting. Who has more time to share opinions with us?

  I respect that the OP took the time to do the vid to help inform us. When I get closer to L100, I hope there'll be some free rental, so I can check them out. Quite tired of getting burned by "fabulous" and fabulously expensive clubs ending up being just another load.

  Leaving the hormone mix difficulties from whomever it was above alone , put it down to that feeling kind, a helpful other person did advise me to swap my clubs out, play a hole and clear cache again.  This seems to have done the trick, and that something extra that had slipped my mind that seems to have done something - issue was only the longer irons.  

  Arguably the new irons are not showing the same spin ferocity in toi a wind, but a few more holes should soon sort those thought's out as all seems consistent, and close to the L97s.
