There is a file one can use to hard-code flash player parameters.  It is called mms.cfg.

    ThirdPartyStorage = [ 0, 1 ] (0 = false, 1 = true)

Third party refers to SWF files that are executing within a browser and have an originating domain that does not match the URL displayed in the browser window.

If this value is set to 1, third-party SWF files can read and write locally persistent shared objects. If this value is set to  0, third-party SWF files cannot read or write locally persistent shared objects.

Note if I set this value to 0, I can not log onto WGT.  In my opinion third party storage should not be allowed.

Could you please look into this.

+ 1.But I do not think it will change, as it was set up this way by design.

If your browser is set to "not accept/block 3rd party cookies", won't this stop it? Sorry if a dumb question.

I block everything, ads, cookies (only accept 1st party), tracking, etc. When I go to the adobe settings manager, it's set to 0 on both and never has anything in it. I run CCleaner, ASC Pro, and have the Flash Player shortcut on my desktop which I clear all storage, and clear all in advanced, too, every time I log off. I run Disc Cleaner on ASC before I run CCleaner, and it picks up macromedia/flash cookies/files. I do a secure delete on everything, also.

I know you're much more computer literate than I am (from your past posts), and know all of this already, but I was curious if what I'm doing removes the files/cookies. I'm OCD about cleaning my computer. probably do it too much.

Website cookies are different than LSO cookies.

No, it doesn't stop third party LSO.

Do a search for "assetcache", and delete that folder, it will clear out cookies that you may not be aware of.  CCleaner, does not clean this folder directly.  There is a section where to include folders and files and subfolders that can be added to remove this.

For example all your settings for this site get stored in a file with the following extension "SOL".  If you search your folders for this extension it will bring up where the information is stored and from which site.  These files are directly related to adobe flash.

Just ran the search. Found 3 assetcache folders, deleted them all, after adding them to CCleaner for cleaning/deleting. Searched again, and one was right back in there, lol. Maybe because I am still logged on.

I don't know how to search for SOL extensions. I tried searching folders, sub-folders, and files. Couldn't find anywhere else to search. Also, my search is slow because I have IE completely disabled and it said something about files or folders not indexed. It still found the folders, though. Thanks for that info. Don't know what the folders could have that would hurt anything, but I am OCD about cleaning my PC. If I don't put it there, I don't want it there ;-)

    Thanks,

    Jay

When you use Ccleaner to clear your flash cookies, all the files that have an 'sol' extension are removed except one.  This file contains the global settings for adobe flash.  If you click on the control panel and Flash player in the CPL you can change those global parameters.

    *.SOL worked for me.

When I opened the containing folder, it opened the assetcache folder. Interesting stuff.
