02/02/15 The second CC sponsored tournament

  A club with many members I could happily play again and again..

  Just too enamoured with the Serenity philosophy..

  Do what we like whenever we feel like doing it !!!   ;-))

  Look I am new kid on the block recruitment wise.  I personally fully endorse our screening for the very obvious before entry, and some are v obvious.  Without trying to dismiss the above conversation we do run IMO a good club, and do our best as of now.  I can't comment more as I simply was not around back then at bridge.

  OK what I would like to say though is a huge thanks to all members both old and the many new.  This tourney so far has gone better than any of us dared hope with even more new members after yesterday, and I need to count up those from our new exact target audience that we were struggling to tap into.  

  As usual don't get me wrong as superb Ls / TLs joining we are as pleased as any club is to get, but this tourney was mainly about a drive to the Ms / TMs arena - a space we have not previously played in really.  

  Still early days, but already this tourney has rocket  propelled us into the space we wanted to be.

  What can I say we have been informed by WGT that so far we have TWICE the usual entrants this type of tourney gets.

  As recruitment officer a huge thanks to all the club for promoting this, and also to WGT for generally facilitating it, and of course all those who have played:)

  Doing a gr8 job Jim, checked out the website earlier and.....

  Seems all bases covered, wish there was that info around back then ( or as easily accessible)  for me as a sort of / still newbie...had to learn mostly by trial n error :)

  ...2 years is a long time on WGT eh ?

  I played in this event ( very badly) and the thing that stood out  was how gawd awful those dog tee markers are. It looks like something I would have done in my 1st week of teaching myself photoshop. Awful, awful work WGT, shame on you.

  This has been a very positive experience for Bridgestone save for contributions from one and those of another. 

  Please refrain and let us "Stoners" bask in this. We really don't want to hear it.

  Can someone explain to me exactly what this 'sponsoring' lark is all about.

  Does it mean the CC is coughing up credits to the top 70 ?

  Does it mean they are 'sweetening the pot"

  If not then what the hell does it mean, because if it just an exercise to attach ur name to a regular weekly WGT tourney then what are you offering, other then a pre-membership grilling.

  I do remember once being refused a job as a teenager'ish because they thought I was too intelligent, or over qualified however u want to put it, and would cause problems in the workforce. It was some kind of upmarket Supermarket not far removed from shelf filling. I was  on drugs at the time, and didn't give a shite. Just wanted money.
