    hi guys

that video is very interesting and actually shows something for us to discuss.

the main issue is that the dots had various speeds on the hole. the main issue I see is the flash performance on the computer. this could be tested by trying it in other browsers + different conditions, such as closing all programs, disabling things like antiviruses or other processes that run in the background.

the flash value is even on our end, so if such variances occur on same hole, then it seems to be tied to that specific computer and will probably be at different speeds for different players on different day.

Bingo! I opined that different Flash versions affected this particular scenario. Witness the fact that I, using an earlier version of Flash, don't see the issue at hand. This all started when WGT changed the frame rate in an effort to smooth out the meter and as a result, some will see this phenomenon.

It appears the version of Flash that one is using is the real culprit here.  ;-)

Yes I thought so too, so now we need to figure out at what flash update this began, and go back to the previous version or hope that the next flash update fixes this.

Maxthon 3 uses flash 11.5 , so that should be ok, but that might bring out other issues as alt game invites.

    THanks for the answer Icon

    Erm, NO, not bingo!

I too use an older version of flash, I have normal dot speed ONLY at Kiawah and Bethpage. Congressional, StA etc are totally unplayable for me..

    or

Are you opining that our flash version only affects certain courses?

I have been told I need more rams and a better processor, I ask why? BEFORE wgt messed with the dots everything was fine, now all of a sudden I need a better performing pc?

What a load of utter Boll0cks!

Just from what I see browser or edition of windows edition has nothing to do with it.

Now I do run latest flash.  We also know there was a "hiccup" with the meter change, and that was your end.  If it is in fact now changed to purely a flash issue would there be any chance of sharing which versions of flash you had time to test it with?

I don't think Kiawah is free of it, but less likely an issue there.  BOH the Whistler hole had the issue, but others fine.  Can only say what I see.

Anyway if you go back a few pints I tried this game on a very basic celeron laptop, and ran just fine meter wise and usually for dots.  Easily fine......

I would say my windows 7 (pretty high spec) lappy sees more a slow, slow normal ? speed, and all repeats at the holes the holes the issue manifests, not per course.  Windows 8 I see more a stall then normal speed, and that was easier to go with as obvious which speed to use.

Of course before the meter frame rate whatever change I never had an issue with meter or dots.

EDIT: Can't help but  think many of the mass market would just take two looks, and think why bother?  You need to sort it.

    Desktop...

    Win7...FF/Maxthon/Commodo/IE browsers

    quad core processor...4gig ram...flash versions 11/15/16/17

nothing running or with FW and AV running..nothing else!

Still does it with every combination!!!!!!

Desktop with XP using all the above combinations...

Still does it regardless of combo, some worse than others.

Desktop w/ Win7 set up just like Icons setup he gave me...still does it....

Desktop barebones i put together...still does it...

    Laptops

1 w/ XP....1 w/ Win7.... 1 w/ 8.1...all do if they are even playable with many different browsers and flash version combos...

done with 2 different ISP's, 1 fast and 1 very fast....7 different pc's with god knows how many combinations of browsers/flash/programs running...SAME RESULTS!

So much for that theory LOL.

Some courses are worse than others...what I do now is watch grid dots from every view for a longer period of time..get a spot to aim at, then depending on how fast dots are moving hit into the break from 1 to 5 pixels and it seems to work....

on some holes it is just a guess period...on some courses I have no idea...

No, I'm opining from the POV that I don't see the issue on any course. Nothing more than that.

Ask yourself how changing the frame rate affects the speed of the dots. What's the only common thing that all of us have where rendering is affected-Flash. Do the math.

So it must be a New York thing then, the one adjustment I can't make LOL...

However I find it very hard to believe some folks don't see it at all when I see it on 7 different pc's using 4 different browsers and 4 different flash versions, 2 different ISP's...rendering some courses unplayable

I don't see it as bad at  the trans america, but if I just go to stroke play at BPB I have...I see it at the unlimited weekly at Kiwiah, then the next round it's not too bad...STA is not too bad but the views always move at different speeds on all courses

Maybe my fault , I suggested that it might be a flash problem, and Icon was fast to reply !

They would love to pass on any issues.

Yes, it goes from dead silence to suddenly appearing and agreeing with anyone who gives them an out.  That said, today the dots seem just about where I think they should be though I admit that is dead slow compared to what we had when they first fixed the meter.
