jakestanfill7: Good news- I didn't break my computer AGAIN. Bad news- I now have a goose egg on the right side of my head the size of baseball. Man I wish I wasn't so competitive!
Jake that is a great story. I empathize with your round in the Legend Open. Last month's was at St. Andrews and I was -11 at one point headed to 15. A meter freeze (at 15) and a slider (at 16) and all of a sudden a possible win turns into a 65 or 66 or something like that. I think all of us have horror stories, of great rounds turned awful by meter problems.
The one that sticks in my mind worst, I was -9 on 17 tee in a St. Andrews B9 RG (I eagled 14). I had a perfect distance to the back pin, nice wind, and - bam! - meter totally freezes on the way down. Not only is it horribly pulled, but it ends up running in the fairway left of the green... out of bounds. I mean, it's only about 15 yds off the green left, I can see it, but it's OB. So I have to re-hit from about 205 again :). So in one hole, I got metered, and it was so bad it ended up out of bounds, in a place that normally would not be. My dreams of 25 or 26 were dashed, I shot 28 and ended up losing the RG in a tiebreak.
.... like today's St. Andrews 18, where I lost to Chris/price's 58. Come on, we should enter different ones! :)
