    MichaelStroke:
In the words of the illustrious Ric Flair:  To be the man, you gotta beat the man.

Well, I've never heard of Ric Flair and won't bother doing a "Wilk" on him if he says such silly things....Alt-shot to me has nothing to do with winning or losing or some low self-esteem "helper" like "I gotta BEAT this dude & BE DA MAN" type of infantile philosophy. Alt-shot is about carefree, easy going appreciation of fellow WGT players of all skill, interest, and tenure levels....at least in my understanding of it. ~ SP ~

A/S mostly is about fun, but it makes sense to have the same rules as match.

And you've never heard of Ric Flair?  Seriously?

    Ha - Well Mike, I do now...I fudged and looked...which makes me ask, why in the world would I possibly know about some 66 year old ugly (now and in his hey-day), low life court jester like wrestler, with 4 ex-wives, a bunch of dopey kids who, incidently, are alive only because he got either drunk or high one night....why would I know this ?  ;-}

    ttrific:
In the last few months, there have been a lot more legends and tour legends playing alternate shot.

Very easy to be a L or TL these days so seems logical.

    ttrific:
Legends and Tour Legends always putt at green speeds 12 or 13, so when they play alternate shot, they need make no adjustments to their putting - they putt at that speed 100% of the time.

    Rubbish.

    ttrific:
I would gladly tee off from the back tees if I didn't have to putt at 12 or 13 green speeds

You are not allowed even with L90 irons - got to get to L first::)

    ttrific:
This puts those of us who are not Legends or Tour Legends at a disadvantage

Hmmmmmm a good one will take your speed apart remember.

    ttrific:
My suggestion is to make the green speed for alternate shot the same for all players (say green speed 11).

Ideally host should get to choose (away from the new disney fun ground silly speeds).

    ttrific:
Another (even better) possibility would be to allow the player who starts the game to set the upper limit for participating players, so that, for example, a game could be selected with Pros, Tour Pros, Masters, and Tour Masters only.

Why not...If they could do it without more bugs which sadly.............If it stopped this type of whinging might be an idea though:)...........Learn the game mate, not excuses.

I'll limit myself to one reply on this subject to all the comments so far.  I can't see how it's skin off anybody's nose if the app is changed to allow a player to deselect players above their ranking.  We can already deselect players below our ranking, so why not above?  I was not surprised to see a variety of comments about my "whingeing" on this subject.  Apparently I'm expected to "man up", learn green speed 12 and 13, and shut up.  Lots of arrogant players out there, I guess.   I play WGT for enjoyment, not to bolster my ego, and I'm trying to enhance my enjoyment, nothing more.  As far as I understand it, WGT is for everyone who plays it, not just those with a superiority complex...

Comments about big dogs and yards do not further the discussion, and alternate shot is not the exclusive domain of the "big dogs".

ttrific: you can get a putter scale sheet from WGT Putter Chart Image Results on Firefox. Just find the correct meter speeds for your putter. Sheets have 6 different green speeds from Slow 7, Standard 8, Fast 9, Very Fast 10, Tournament 12 & Championship 13. These are what I use and they seem to be right on the mark for distances. Hope this helps. Birddog8553
