Did anybody else get an email saying the following.

It might be worth checking your twitch accounts and changing the password

We are writing to let you know that there may have been unauthorized access to some of your Twitch user account information, including possibly your Twitch username and associated email address, your password (which was cryptographically protected), the last IP address you logged in from, and any of the following if you provided it to us: first and last name, phone number, address, and date of birth.

For your protection, we have expired your password and stream keys. In addition, if you had connected your account to Twitter or YouTube, we have terminated this connection.

You will be prompted to create a new password the next time you attempt to log into your Twitch account. If applicable, you will also need to re-connect your account to Twitter and YouTube, and re-authenticate through Facebook, once you change your password. We also recommend that you change your password at any other website where you use the same or a similar password.

    We apologize for this inconvenience.

    The Twitch Team

Check the email header. It may be a scam if that doesn't look legit. You could send a email to twitch support and see if it is true.

Don't use any links in that email, go direct to the website.

I got the same email. I also got the email from Twitch telling me Mags had gone live, so I clicked on link.

When I tried to log in to Twitch website, I got the following message - "Twitch will send reset instructions to the email address associated with your account."

Reluctantly, I did so, got the email from Twitch, clicked on it back to Twitch website and this message came up - "Resetting your password will also invalidate your existing stream keys".

I'm not entirely sure what this means and so I haven't changed my password yet. It all looks pretty genuine, but not sure what the last message from Twitch means.

Any advice welcome please. Thanks all....

I went straight to Twitch ... not to my email first. Got reset instructions sent to my email ... just as if I knew nothing of anything going on ... appears legit ... so far ...

"Resetting your password will also invalidate your existing stream keys".

I'm not entirely sure what this means and so I haven't changed my password yet. It all looks pretty genuine, but not sure what the last message from Twitch means.

Any advice welcome please. Thanks all....

The stream key is the code Twitch gives you to put into your broadcast tool. This allows the tool to connect the feed to your Twitch page. If you don't broadcast, it is not relevant to you, so go ahead and change the password (going directly to Twitch of course, never follow any links).

Update:  I reset password and all seems good. Tend to agree it all seems legit.
