I have no problem with my meter, but there is a constantly changing speed of the dots on the green, which is making putting very difficult, and others in my country club have it as well.  We are able to play by assuming that the fastest dot speed is in fact the accurate one, but that takes alot of patience, leading to rounds like the last one I had with 9 birdies and 7 bogeys!  Yikes, please help!

Do you monitor your computer's CPU performance as you play?

The green dots (and the swing meter) are a graphic that plays on your computer.

If a players computer CPU is busy running other applications in the background, the dots may not play smoothly at a speed consistent with the break of the green.

I did monitor my computer's CPU performance as the dots changed speed and reported the results in this post.

My CPU usage went down when the dots slowed.  And the Frame Rate went down when the dots slowed.  My conclusion is:

"The CPU workload reducing with slow dots and no difference seen reconfiguring my PC  seems to indicate something in the Game Client is changing the FPS to the screen. It could be the Game Client doing other work before writing to the screen or its built in to however WGT changed the frame rate a while back."

In either case, it's WGT not my PC.

Have to agree with you there, Andy, and I think I see what players are complaining about. The circle that spins when you're waiting for another player sped up in the update where that FPS was changed. It goes really fast now as many have mentioned.

What I see, though, is that it's not a changing speed. It spins fast, hesitates and spins fast. This is pretty regular and always seemed to me that it was something in the rendering. After the FPS conversation, it made sense.

The dots do the same thing. They roll their speed and hesitate, then keep rolling. The speed stays the same but that little hesitation like with the spinning circle gives the illusion that the speed is changing. It's like it's on a loop with a delay. For some reason that never bothered me but I could see where it would to some.

Don't think you are having/seeing the problem. The hesitation you describe used to happen to me a while ago, but have not noticed that hesitation lately.

When 1st viewing the dots, they move fast ('correct speed") for maybe 1 to 2 seconds. then slow down and stay at that slow speed for maybe 5-10 or more seconds, then speed up for 1-2 seconds then slow down again.

Switching views on the green gives me that initial fast 'correct speed' for maybe 1-2 seconds. These fast/slow dot movement occurs in both putt and chip view and in forward and reverse view.

Difficult to read putts in such a short time period, and cannot always place the grid using chip view in the proper location in time to see a break.

bhoese video shows the problem very clearly, and Andyson described the same thing I see when I watch my cpu performance and the green dot movement concurrently.

Knowing some players do not have this problem, puts those that do have the problem at a disadvantage when competing together.

I run the game client on Windows 7 Pro using ComodoDragon browser version 27.0.4.0 with flash version 15.0.0.152 and have been using these same versions for well over a year now with no problem until the dot/meter update.

Any evidence that a certain Browser/Flash version combination does not have this dot movement problem?

For me it's Comodo Dragon with Flash version 11.9.900.117. And you're right, what I see isn't at all like what you described.

Columbus, you are describing exactly what I am experiencing.  The only way I am able to play is by guessing at the fastest speed of the dots, and its very difficult guesswork.  At the same time...I AM HAVING ZERO METER ISSUES...my meter works great.  So, I'm not seeing how this is either a cpu or a browser problem, and I never noticed this issue until recently.

This is exactly why WGT monkeyed with the frame rate Andyson spoke of. The smooth meter is causing collateral damage because of the way WGT is making that meter smooth.

Yep same here - great meter, lousy dot speed changing all the time. Today was the worst. I like many judge the speed of the break on the fastest speed the dots get, and tonight the dots only went their fastest for maybe 1/3 of a second, enough to tell me that the rest of the time when the dots were slower that that isn't the break to read.

Frustrating when I have a great meter and could shoot good scores only to find i am often completely unable to read the break on putts.

Same problem here. Sometimes I can close out the game and start over and it fixes the glitch. Hope WGT addresses this soon.
