correct and consistent dot speed on the greens needs to be spot on. reading the break should not be a guessing game

    I agree.

What else I am finding more and more is that the break/read is different at least half the time between the 2 views. The behind the cup view and the normal player view putt breaks so often are different, in fact I'd say they are different at least 50% of the time.. is making it hard to judge any putt, and with the dots changing speed all the time, putting is a lot less skill and a whole lot more luck.

Dots are good example of just how screwed up wgt's logic is. Putting is not a guessing game, at least not in any other golf game or RL. I see a different dot speed with every different view. Might as well turn the dots off, they only add to the confusion. If other players are not seeing this & are are getting dots true to the break then once again wgt has found a way to make the game more unfair.

WHY can't wgt put the dots back the way they were. OR just get rid of them altogether, at least it would be fair to all then.

Consistency on putting is HARD ENOUGH when you think you have almost figured it out. Anything that deviates the dots by adjusting your view does nothing when sizing up your putt. I have struggled long and hard just to make pars. When the game becomes just a guessing game on the greens it will not be welcomed by the Skilled players. I find myself most fortunate when I hit two or three birdies in a game. If this situation with the speed of the dots being inaccurate becomes the norm then it may really hurt WGT with player revolt.

This is a good problem to bring up, as I've been having the most bizarre experiences on greens lately.

    1) The dots change speeds as you're trying to read the green.

    2) Depending on whether it's forward view or reverse view, the dots often break in opposite directions. If it's breaking from left to right in forward view, for example, it should break from right to left in reverse view, but the break is often very different in reverse view.

    3) I have had putts break up to 2 cups, even though the dots showed no break in any angle.

    4) I have had putts go perfectly straight, even though the dots showed obvious break.

All of this leads to some pretty frustrating rounds. Hope something can be done to make the dots consistent from all angles. I don't envy the programmers who have to do all the math, but there has to be a mathematical solution.

Wow, I feel better after getting that out of my system! lol

P.S. All of the above happens when I perfectly ding the ball....

They roll their speed and hesitate, then keep rolling

Don't think you are having/seeing the problem. The hesitation you describe used to happen to me a while ago, but have not noticed that hesitation lately.

When 1st viewing the dots, they move fast ('correct speed") for maybe 1 to 2 seconds. then slow down and stay at that slow speed for maybe 5-10 or more seconds, then speed up for 1-2 seconds then slow down again.

Switching views on the green gives me that initial fast 'correct speed' for maybe 1-2 seconds. These fast/slow dot movement occurs in both putt and chip view and in forward and reverse view.

Difficult to read putts in such a short time period, and cannot always place the grid using chip view in the proper location in time to see a break.

bhoese video shows the problem very clearly, and Andyson described the same thing I see when I watch my cpu performance and the green dot movement concurrently.

Knowing some players do not have this problem, puts those that do have the problem at a disadvantage when competing together.

I run the game client on Windows 7 Pro using ComodoDragon browser version 27.0.4.0 with flash version 15.0.0.152 and have been using these same versions for well over a year now with no problem until the dot/meter update.

Any evidence that a certain Browser/Flash version combination does not have this dot movement problem?

Using Maxthon on Win 7...same thing. It's not a browser problem.

Up the post for anyone from the technical staff who is interested  to give a solution.

Despite the dot speed the best players are scoring exactly as they always score.
