Just how many people are going to click on1 of these adds when they are playing a game? I don't think too many will. It is just a waste of time and resources for those adds.

How many people run right out to buy laundry soap or feminine hygiene products as soon as they see the commercial on TV?

Does that stop companies from paying huge money for advertising?  NOPE! . It's all about getting the name out there, and if WGT can make money from it, and be no more intrusive than these ads are, knock yourselves out WGT is what I say!

I agree...If running these ads means the price of balls and clubs is kept down...be my guest.  WGT is a business and they need to make money to stay in business...have at it is what I say.

I agree 100% with that statement like a lot of other members do. WGT didn't have to put an annoying ad banner in the game client during game-play. There's a lot of different places they could've put a new ad banner, like the main page, our profiles, the pro shop, Country Clubs, not the game client.

I don't believe there should be a boycott either, that's just as ridiculous as putting an ad banner in the game client.  :)

well interesting responses all, however the point being I paid for my gear and I'm playing golf on the course... so when I'm on the course do I really want the intrusive distraction of pop-up ads between holes?

When I'm on the course its mainly to GET AWAY from that type commercial hype BS.

To all the members that responded to my gripe..Don't let the dog fool you..I hold a masters in computer science/forensics from MIT and a JD from USC.  I also have a very profitable business...(and understand marketing) besides being a K-9 Supervisor for a major metropolitan law enforcement agency.

In case you haven't noticed the pop-up ads sometimes show up between shots, not only during the scorecard gui. "Pay attention and you'll learn" is what I always tell my students.

So I am not going to mince words or have a battle of wits with unarmed people.

    Have a great day.

I can see by some of the responses, that the membership is one set of sharp tools. Marketing or not--it's very annoying and breaks the rythm of the game. Kind of like when we stop them on the streets and keep them for 45 minutes--it breaks up their routine.

    Hi

Only been playing since november had my fair sahre of issues on this game but finally got them sorted witht he help of others players advice.

Dont mind paying for new clubs and i regularly buy vapour trail balls aswell as entering a few tounaments and generally enjoying the game even though it has to be said its bad for bugs and glitches which ihope in time  WGT fix.

Very proffesional feeling game you can loose yourself in real pressure within games i love the challenge.

However with one simple banner add between game loading screens has tuned my opinion around. Game looks cheapo and nasty usuall online rubbish with banners loading between games. Why put them on the players games you have a whole website full of areas you can use for advertising just not in the game.

    Please get rid of it.

I tend to agree that pop up between holes is very annoying with screen going smaller and bigger during shot adjustment. i hate it and always forget to wait till add goes away before set up. it was a bad idea to place ad in this location and very very annoying.
