OK, by no means did I plan to hit my drive that far right, but the anticipation of seeing the ball roll around on that green had me on my feet....until....until.....well, look for yourself!

    WHY DID THIS BALL STOP?

Looked like it hit a wall there, very strange.   I have had a similar shot roll down a few inches past the hole.

I believe wgt puts a 30 seconds limit on a shot.

That must be it or close to it.I put a stop watch on the shot and it took 31 seconds.

At the pace that was rolling it shouldn't have come to such an abrupt stop, something very strange with that,,as far as any clock on that in my experience as long as you get the shot off before any timer elapses the shot always finishes.....that's a very weird one....

Racoon nailed it...Andyson showed similar things on the first Par 3 at Merion...

I too have hit at that hole (12 at CB) but curled up to the right on the steep slope down...only to see the ball stop 25 feet away and some 22+ inches down...the shot just timed out...

If that is true then it's just another thing that has made this game a big farce.

Well, I guess the 30 second thing is the answer because I timed it also and it is right around 30 seconds from tee off to the sudden stop.  Thanks for the input and an explanation to why that stopped so suddenly.  Guess I need to apologize to my buddy, I accused him of discarding his gum on the green.

The 30 second shot time limit was fine for Kiawah and Bethpage(sans #15) and also considering Tournament greens were the fastest back then.

With a green speed of Champ 13 (and higher) and the much more contoured greens of Merion, Pinehurst2, and now Chambers Bay, its time for WGT to raise that shot time limit a bit and give these shots the needed time to complete.

I did submit a Problem Report on the above replay to get the suggestion in their system.
