KIAWAH HOLE 9 415 YARDS

   wgt,

  kiawah hole 9 is given as 415 yards in length,  I just hit the first shot 260 yards, simple maths reveals that the distance to the flag is thus 415 - 260 = 155 yards  yet  on the next shot the distance to the hole was given as 187 yards.   This always happens on this particular hole.  For your follow up  so thay you can correct  the mathematical mistake.

  Did you hit it in a direct line toward the pin? If so, you're a long way off the fairway. And if you in fact hit it in the fairway, then there's your answer.

  If you can't reach the green in one does it really matter what the original figure is?

  The WGT scorecard length is measured to one hole on Par4s and Par5s - @KIA#9 it's the front hole. You probably played to the "new" pin in the back - obviously longer but it doesn't show on the tee.

  Furthermore, this is a dog leg - you won't play on a straight line.

  The true distance is shown when hovering over the blue dot on the mini map, or after whiffing the first shot (take putter).

  if you'd play from the black tees instead of the red ones...you might understand the problem.

  Please explain. I think you have the wrong person. 

  What I meant by my comment was that it doesn't really matter if it stated 415 yards, or 415 miles. Once you've driven the ball as far as possible onto the fairway the original distance is no longer of consequence. I was just making an observation.

  Feel free to check. Mine is one of the few clubs that limits red tee tournys. I just allow a couple for variety. Had a few members leave lately because it's too tough.
