Would appreciate any input on putting on Championship Greens . I am reasonably decent on reading the amount of break, but struggle with distance control . Is there some sort of formula applicable to putting on ultra fast greens.

    Thanks.

    Wayne.

For Champ 13 greens, I suggest

    x = 0.63*d + 0.9*e + 1

where x is the resulting power, d is the displayed distance [ft] and e is the elevation [inch] (attention: +0=+1, +1=+2,...). Never round down, but add a bit if you have head wind.

For Champ 14 greens, use 0.60 instead of 0.63

I use distance divided by 1.35, for down hill putts, I use 1.4

    Hope it get's you started.

Still not totally clear. Down hill is 1.4. Up hill 1.35 ? Clarify. What about a level putt?

    Thanks .

Using the above formula define the distance on a 10 ft. put level, uphill, and downhill, I believe I comprehend but please illustrate.

    Thanks.

Bare with me on the Keybord...missing letters...lol

Okay... 10 foot putt divided by 1.35 is bout 7.5 feet of power...means on my 30 foot scale, I go one avtr movement and maybe  scooch more

Say 30 foot putt, dropping 6 inches...is  24 feet of putt...24/1.4 is bout 17 feet of power

Now since I use avtr moves, not percentages or putter pal, I add  bit, take some away as needed.

    Not real scientific, eh?...lol

For a level putt on Championship 13 speed greens I divide the distance by 1.35. As putts get longer I add to the factor to account for a longer distance putt. For a 30 foot level putt I'll use 1.4

From there how much slope up/down determines what factor I divide by.

The uphill the factor gets smaller and the downhill gets larger. For a radical downhill slope I may use a factor of 1.8 or 1.9.

The point is there is no one divide/multiply factor that you can use for all putting situations. Experience and feel also have to be applied.
