Balls to Pick after hitting into the water.

  Hi In the real life if I loose a ball I can pick any other ball from my bag. wit WGT I get given the beginners balls. Can this be changed?

  Thanks for posting! We go by the one ball rule where the ball you begin a round with is the same type that needs to be played through the entire round. I usually recommend players check to make sure that they have enough of that ball type to play the entire round with.

  Our WGT bag can only hold (be equipped with) 1 Make/model of ball at a time. Those other balls in your inventory are not in your bag.

  As mentioned, WGT invokes a form of the One Ball Condition, a local Condition of the Competition provided for the the Rules of Golf's - Appendix I, Part C, 1., c.

  What they use is not the One Ball Condition in the Rules or a reason that was cited by Mr. WGT early in the game's history when he was asked.

  If it were based on the One Ball Condition in the Rules of Golf it would not be applied in practice, low level competitions and country club tournaments where WGT should not be the self appointed tournament committee.

  Most likely it was done simply because management, developers and programmers found it much easier to make the game work the way it does. Developers and programmers for the ease of programming, management for the potential of millions of dollars in ball sales to players who will never use them.

  Moderators most likely use the excuse of the One Ball Condition now because it's much easier to hide behind but we as players started citing it as the reason long before they did.

  +100!

  The game is easier WITHOUT ANY OPTIONS, and this I count as the primary reason.

  Comparing against real golf, we don't get a choice where to position the ball on the tee,

  we don't get a choice to drop the ball where we want to after a water shot,

  we don't get the choice of an unplayable ball,

  we don't get the choice of a different ball type.

   

  On second thought, the bag is locked through the games to prevent club exchanges which would break the rules. By chance, the ball selection is part of the bag, locked too.

  This, too, eases programming.

  The bag is locked but it should not be in practice mode if realism is a goal.

  Simply put NO!! as wgt is a virtual golf game based on the REAL thing you simply cannot choose any old ball, In golf you play with the same ball start to finish, If you tee off with a titliest 1 and loose it, you REPLACE it with a titliest 1.

  True for Tin Cup and PGA Tour but not for the average amateur golfer on his everyday round. There's nothing in the basic 34 Rules of Golf to support your belief. Give proof of your opinion if possible.
