Eye-blinding and almost offensive

  I opened my game client this morning and was lucky i was still half asleep with my eyes more or less closed, when the new background hit me full in the face.,

  After putting on my sungalsses i was able to play a game, though every time you go back to the main page you get struck again.

  I understand thefact that adds are there for the much needed revenue to develop a game like this, especiallywhen the game would be for free. But it is not, we pay, we pay a lot to play here. 

  Furthermore there is the object of this add, alcohol, and i can imagine there are people with a history on that matter, who rather not would be remembered on that subject on such an almost offensive, but at least intrusive way.

   

  Is there a possibility to opt out this add and go back to a more neutral background for the game client?

  It might offend some but it's better than that bright red thing we had a while back.  : )

  Well I guess they realise most people who visit 4 times discover ad block pretty quick, and so now the game client is to be utilised.  I think most countries still allow such advertising to some degree.  I believe some networks take the high ground and don't have it, but looking to this place to take the high ground is not going to be a happy experience.

  Personally I don't care, just slightly irritated when they can do that whilst not even attempting some serious bug fixes for a few weeks.

  Agree with the OP.

  A colour blind reformed alcoholic's worst nightmare.

  And regulate the ubiquitous "chump greens with moderate winds" set-up, prevalent in virtually every tourney over the last two months.. vary the conditions once in a while!

  I quite like the look of it, even though it's not a great whisky. (US spellchecker flagged up whisky sigh...clueless).

   Alcohol, alcohol sponsored events and alcohol ads surround us in our daily lives, any alcoholic in recovery has to learn to deal  with that. WGT are not responsible for anyone's  alcoholism.

  Seeing Glenmorangie ads in the lead up to The Open is hardly surprising considering they are major sponsors of The Open and WGT.

  But, as Jim says, fixing the many, many, many bugs should have taken priority.

  I'm not seeing anything other than the usual Chambers Bay backdrop ... even when I go to compose a game. I did see the airplane thing and the red thing when they had them, but so far, nothing now ... 

  Hmmm .... after looking at the country flags, maybe just Europeans are seeing it. And Ozzies ... and residents of Thailand.

  Edit: 7:58 CST ... now I see it ...

  Not the point of the thread but when can we get individual nation flags for the UK countries please WGT.  Only same as IRL, and irritating we don't have them when some one found the time to design gnome tees (poorly) etc....

  I agree that fixing the glitches has priority by a long shot, but to be honest i gave up on that. Every time they fix something, 3 new glitches showing up.

  My latest on that is when i type something in the chat, my views go mental and start changing after every few letters. Wtf is that all about? Though i think its a result of the new many view option on the greens, which are , to be honestly abhorrent and completely useless most of the time.

  I hoped it would enhance Kiawah,, weel, if you played there, you know that it is even worse then before

  Maybe thats why we get this add, you have to absorb an decent amount of alcohol to play here :-)))))
