Can anyone tell me if moving the red dot completely to the bottom of the golf ball helps extract a golf ball out of heavy, thick fescue, or when deep in sand bunkers?

Secondly, is there any advantage to moving the red dot low in high wind situations or high in low wind situations? Does doing either of the things in the previous two paragraphs maximize ball carry (yardage)? Or is the function of the little red dot strictly limited for putting forward & reversae spin on the golf ball?

Spin influences the height of the flight and therefore the yardage. I may or may not be the same than on the real golf course.

    My beliefs:

    Thick rough: topspin (ts),

    sand bunkers, back spin (bs),

    (both have little effect now)

headwind: little ts, tailwind: little bs,

    uphill: ts

    downhill: straight setting.

That said, your Starter equipment doesn't take much of a spin. Playing it, I used full bs all the time as it seemed to give longer ball flight.

Not the thick stuff, play out sidewards with wedge like real golf and take it on the chin

Dont expect to put more on it and go for flag if its your second shot

If not too thick then punch down track

Well SJ, this is a solid, good and common question. The answer is a variable. The relationship between the ball, the club and the red dot are unique in terms of the outcome. Because of this, a standard answer doesn't exist. That is to say that the result of a shot with a starter wedge, starter ball and a red-dot at full back-spin will not be the same, say as the same shot with a Nike Plat, a top cleve wedge at full back-spin. Finding out is part of the enjoyment of the game.  ~ SP ~

Alosso,     I appreciate your reply. I agree with you on most all of your deductions. I just wanted to hear from someone as yourself with more experience than myself.

Bubbsboy,   Appreciate your reply. I came to roughly the same conclusions, but wanted to hear from a more experienced member as yourself. Thx!
