Now level 103, which driver should I choose?

  What makes the R1 nice is not the distance, it's the forgiveness. It's hard to miss fairways with it and that's what changed everything for me. You don't have to nut every drive and when the approaches are coming from fairway instead of rough the GIRs go up and the score comes down.

  It isn't about how far you can drive the ball, it's where it lands that counts and the R1 is very accurate. Pick a slope to land on and watch it spring forward.    :-)

  LoL ;).  You guys can keep it!  Btw, 93 and 96 have same forgiveness. Besides, I've personally never had much problem keeping it in the fairway (until 7/31 lol!).

  Josh, if I could gift you my 93+ I would :D.

  IMO, no. The little extras the 8 degree driver offers-like roll and less wind influence-aren't worth giving up for whatever little extra distance you get. I have tried all the drivers and keep coming back to the R1 8.0.  :-)

  Thanks, was wondering if I would just be throwing money away for the sake of a new toy, seems I'll just need to hope that there's a new and better one on it's way.

  i got the 93 driver and am loving it!!! i average 12 yards longer off the tee and its a magnet to fairways

  All of the drivers from the 96 calloway are great drivers. Until I purchased the lvl 103 I did not think that a driver could save you strokes. It is not longer than any other driver but the higher trajectory allows you to reach and stop on a few greens that you could not with the other drivers. It also allows you to cut corners and stop the ball on the fairway. All the upper level drivers are pretty easy to get in the fairway but the 103 allows you to put the ball where you wont it. IMHO.

  Just when I'd made my mind up to stay with what I have (and save credits) I now find myself reconsidering the new toy...............decisions, decisions.

  We just had this discussion in the CC forum.....

  A TL was trying to decide whether or not to buy it...3 other TL's(all very good players) have it and like it...the player who has had it the longest said he averages about 4 yrds longer than the 8 degree R1, but what he likes most is the carry...they all love it...

  I have the Nike and R1, and I rented the new longer R1...I couldn't get used to the slow slow meter LOL...I did see a few more yrds like the other TL said, but I prefer the Nike 9 degree...

  The reason I like it as I have posted many times before, is the same reason Tom likes the new R1...it isn't the 4 yrds longer avg...it is the fact that the higher loft is more versatile, you can cut corners and go over trees that you cant with the old R1...and when you do, you gain a 15-25 yrd advantage on these holes....

  It is all about getting used to the one you play with...I wouldn't buy it for a couple of yrds as I can already use the carry with the nike....the other 3-4 guys with the old R1 love it!

  I did wonder about the Nike due to having the same meter speed, if only there was a free rental weekend.

  LOL...my opinion is that if everyone used the Nike long enough to learn how to play it, nobody would own the old R1 OR buy the New R1...the other 80% involved in our discussion are certain that I am mentally ill....LOL....which is a possibility!

  I wouldn't buy the new R1 if it was 1995 credits, I can do the same thing with the nike -4yrds, in other words I have to use 1/2 b/s on the approach shot, they can use full b/s...JMO

  I'd rather buy the new Nike putter but the 96 Versa works very well....
