Me thinks that the revenue is not so much on the C's side. When the top guns will have moved on, there may be more TLs seeing contention in the comps(?)

OTOH, I don't care for any red tee egobaggers. They are poor buggers doing no harm to others and outside competition. When the company started the red tee thingy, they wanted or accepted this outcome, positive for them due to the "hopeful" grind to console their egos.

A couple of hundered chumps aint gonna be filling an RG very quickly so they may have to wait for a few thousand..

Which thousands? There are less than 2,000 TLs to recruit from!

There are 500 TLs <58.0 avg, 307 <57.0, 190 <56.0 - depending on the threshold, these numbers minus inactives will be the limit for a while.

Substract those being hijacked to TC...

The reason there are even 500 TLs under 58 is that these were heavily saturated before "the change". Most people saw their average jump a few points when the average was limited to their worst 200 RRs out of the 500 that counted up to then. Particularly unsaturated TLs with >200 RRs had the biggest jump as they were yet to start killing off the bad rounds in their pool of scores.

As players approach the required 200 additional RRs, their average will get back close to where it was before.

So the current profile of averages (with relatively few very low ones) is an aberration caused by the "new calculation" method. It is temporary, and we will see the averages dropping back where they where soon enough.

Let's have a look at the more regular July numbers:

    245 TLs <56 avg, 410 <57, 634 <58.

500 is 25% of 2,000 ("thousands"), 634 is 31,7%. Does this increase provide a significant change concerning the emptiness of the C tier?

Tells me there will be quite a few Champions in the next month or so.

If the qualifying average is in fact 58 - which we suspect it is - then TLs with averages at about 60 now, will likely be around the 58 mark by the time they have ground out those extra 200 RRs.

Assuming maybe 3 RRs per day - then 2 months should do it for most reasonably active players.

There are over 1100 TLs currently < 60, and another 200 or so if you look out to 61.

That's about 70% of all the Tour Legends, so only 30% have averages over 61.

Most of those active under 60 will progress within months - at that point - my question would be - "who is left in the TL tier to participate"??

I will bet that once 2 months are up - the progression of TL's will by a long way outpace the progression of Ls to TLs.

But I also agree that the "1,000's" assertion as being the requirement to fill RGs seems over the top.  As there are < 2000 TLs in total currently, including the inactives.

Chump can only ever be a plastic badge for the prestige, just without the prestige.  There won't be any Chump RGs as they could not never fill TL only ones anyway.

A few red cents sugar rush to New Ideas, and a mess for some one else to sort out is all I can see.

The two early members used starter balls / real low cost balls at St As F9 in "average busting CC comps".........

Something looks desperate to resort to this - that's worrying.

As many as possible! You know that the company only wants our best - for themselves...

Concerning saturation - unknown to the public until the first occurrence. First wild guess is 700.

Concerning tiering up to TC - none, as it is by WGT proclamation. The first entry leaves open if Champion is a prerequisite.

Assuming you are correct, the TL population might be split in halves quite shortly, leaving both tiers very small. No win IMHO except for the grind.
