Heath, sorry - like the pigs in "Animal Farm", some computers are more equal than others.
The jerky meter can and has been overcome by lots of us, for a long time.
ADOBE FLASH, and the way that individual computers run it is usually the culprit as are crappy browsers. Yes, by writing the game to run on FLASH, WGT contributes to these problems.
Cleaning out all caches before the game really does help - as does unloading the player's computer (CPU/memory) of extraneous BS processes that contribute nothing to the game.
If you're running a 'Windows' machine, a 'minimized' "Task Manager" will show you the CPU/Physical Memory usage. If you wait until the activity is low & then take the shot, you will minimize the dreaded 'jerky meter'.
Alternatively, holding the club at the desired (back swing) power for 2-5 seconds before releasing the shot also helps.
Finally, some computers simply run faster than others.
Sorry Heath, I'm 70 yrs old and have watched computers evolve from the 1970's to today - (even programmed a Heathkit H-89 in 1978).
There is a HUGH difference in performance among and between computers.
WGT made a mistake choosing FLASH, but that was the most popular and widely used vehicle when the company originated.
If you so choose, ignore this explanation, but know that I have no 'dog in this fight', hold no WGT stock and have no reason to 'blow smoke up your skirt'!!
