Esteemed ladies and gentlemen of WGT land, may I present to you my very first double eagle! And to think it only took me 3 1/2 years! Too long!
Anyways, I wanted to give WGT credit for arranging the par 5 course in the way they did. That front pin at Kiawah 2 is a feeder pin. That hole is the first hole on the front nine of the par 5 course. I restarted until I got it, which was about 20 tries or so. I simply eased up off the spin and allowed it to rolI to the hole. Granted, setting up easy conditions which consisted of low wind from the Pro/Tour Pro tees gives others real bragging rights when it comes to long distance DE's (double eagles), but I don't care. A DE is a DE in my book. And what's kinda funny is that I pulled the approach. In other words, early in terms of hitting the ding. And setting the green speed to tournament also helped. The ball rolls better when it hits the green. And I hereby name my DE the Columbo Double Eagle, since I made it watching an old episode of Columbo. One down, eleven to go to catch JJ656. Wish me luck!
