    thestevster:

they should have had ozzy osbourne as a commentator that would have livened the games up with his colourful language...

Will there be subtitles or closed caption if Ozzy does it?  Just wondering.

Playing me first round after a hiatus and such fer couple weeks and did a little panic dance when the voiceover came on when I drained a birdie on Bandon -- "SOLID PUTT" was what was said and such.

Then on like 5 or 6 hole I had some issues and the like and double-bogeyed up....I was actually thinking no way is this voice gonna gimme some ribbin' or what you call it...when I tapped in my 2footer for a 5 it DID....but was distracted by some gadgets and lights down here in the bunker and only heard "????? PUTT".

Now - I am gonna try to be hip/cool here and say "Oh No He Didn't!"

Tried the replay but the voice appaprently/allegedly doesn't save the talkins.

Anyone know what this guy is saying when a feller double-bogeys?
Please post it if you know. I was just getting over my "WaterBoy Trophy" and.....

I think it might have been "solid putt" but they are kind of random through a round.

I don't know if it's sarcasm or bad programming...

Like - "Very nice shot" when you hit a shot on green that rolls 60ft past hole or sometimes   when you miss a real easy putt.

"On the dancefloor" when you've just missed a long putt.

"Way to grip it and rip it" ball lands in fescue.

This is quite a fun addition but could be so much better. This could have been an opportunity for some real community involvement.

We could have been asked to come up with ideas for what comments to use. WGT could then have drawn up a list for us all to vote on*.

The phrases in use are, well....not very good. No-one says 'in the garden spot', naff naff naff!

*Bananas would be my vote in any poll ;)

Dont know if any one here experiences this but my wife and I play stroke play together and the voices on the shots will only go to one of us and rarely, when both our 'puters say something after a shot,  it's usually 2 different sayings...such as ""in the garden whatever"" on one and ""nice shot"" on the other for example.

"You the man!"? Is that still a thing? My shorty was playing a round all up on the Kiawah and such, in her skimpy USA flag skirt. She goes and blasts a monster drive down the 13th fairway and what does she hear from the peanut gallery?

    "You the man!"

When she *probably* NOT the man, seein' as she is a girl and such.

Still better than "That's in the garden spot." Heard that A LOT.

Then she plants her approach 10 yards from the hole and hears, "Really nice shot!" Patronizing!

Or she reaches the green in 2 on a par 5, misses the eagle putt, and hears, "On the dance floor!" That's just downright cruel.

One thing she might hear, but doesn't, is on a good approach shot: "You're gonna like that."

    That I would like.

Also, why are the comments always by a dude? Ladies playing golf might have something to say but just keep it to themself?

Yes it is a nice feature to have the game speak..but so many better phrases could have been put in..one that I would love to hear is something to remind quitters that are so ticked at a poor shot..that they just want out as fast as they can leave and most just click the dam X icon..I would like to hear a phrase said a couple of times during the round say...."If you are going to quit.."go thru the menu then forfeit on your next turn"
