    Hi all,

I am pro tier and i see some really good scores and i wonder what has them scoring so well, i understand its such a fine line and i see myself getting better, and have so many near misses for birdie and that if they were putted i would be nearing such scores,

i know there is no substitute for experience and just playing, but i would like to appeal to such scorers and ask is forgiveness of equipment vital as i know it is playing its part in some of my shots, because i see it is bang on course and then you notice the software being well, not so forgiving :),

also what was the one piece of advice that you got that you remember as pivitol to your improvement, maybe theres several,

and i would like to ask if anyone would like to share such info?,

    any help appreaciated.

Hi, check the link below, it's a recent thread on equipment advice by veteran members to a player at about your level that is planning ahead.

Also from your stats it looks like you could improve on your approaches to greens and getting closer to the hole for more one-putts.  For me a pivotal point occured when I followed forum advice and selected 3 wedges by ditching the hybrid and using only a fairway wood (it will do just fine in the rough by using the punch shot).

Three good wedges evenly spaced from your iron set PW is a powerful tool to control your distances and spin to stick/roll balls closer to your target.  Use of the punch shot almost doubles the number of clubs (closer spacing) so that you can use them at 90-100 percent power and reduce inconsistencies.

To get the wedges into play more often, invest in a good driver to get the ball within a shorter range of the hole, and take some time before the next shot to read slopes on greens to reduce dramatic over/under rolls.

Mine is just one perspective so again check the link and do more searches on equipment advice as well as chip/pitch/flop techniques for more points of view that will match your style, level and budget.

    Good luck and enjoy!

    -Keith
