Hi I would be gratful for the opinions of people who have used both iron sets

I am currently on L89 and using the L85 Nike irons I am wondering when I reach L90 if to upgrade to the R15`s. The stats between the iron sets look similar although I can see the meter is 0.5 faster for the R15`s. What would be you advice and experience of both Iron set and would you recomend I upgrade or not.

    Thanking you for your help

    Hi NKinsella,

Thanks for the post. Best bet would be to use the free rental when you turn 90 and give them a try. I tried them out and preferred the feel of the RSi2's but all comes down to personal preference. :)

Look around - many things have been discussed here.

    E.g. in this thread...

Yeah same ? just a few days ago..........Look the advice from WGTSham is very fair..........My advice stands, but certainly come a free rental and if just like using them that's personal.

Noticed your status update by the way...very well said.

With and avg DTP of 8 ft, I'd say you don't need any advice.. and all since August.. another prodigy is born.

The clubs the OP already has are more than adequate for playing from the red tees.

I upgraded from The Nike Level 85 Irons to the RSi2. The reasons being are first you get and extra 5 yrds on your 3 iron(220 Nike versus 225 RSi2). Secondly, you get a full point(3.5 vesus 4.5) of spin. Makes a HUGE difference. These are the pros so what is the con? The only con I see is .5 meter speed difference  that you will have to get used to.

So 2 pros versus 1 con on a weighted scale would render the pros. Therefore, I recommend you upgrade.

At this point you have 2 choices at level 90. Keep your level 85 irons or buy the RSi2's because your next chance to buy better irons after level 90 is Level 97( Nike High Level). Now here is the problem. Leveling up takes a Loooonnnngggggg (LONG) time when you are in the 90's. Decisions Decisions......Hope this helps.........

I too recommend to get the the lvl 90 RSi2 Irons. Especially if you play with Balls with little spin. Even they behave well if you use a spin 4.5 club. With those balls the irons are a game changer. But even with high end balls the extra spin is useful.
