    Great update WGT!

Headed in the correct direction with the game and after just a few more minor bug fixes, the game will be terrific.

    Thank  you much WGT!

PhiEaglesFan - then please tell us why, when I wrote to WGT complaining about the numerous disconnections not only I, but just about everyone else I know on WGT are suffering from lately, did I receive this reply back from them:

"We are aware of the higher than normal player disconnection rate. We are working to resolve the issue. Thank you for your patience."

Sounds like pretty standard customer service reply to me.  Make the customer feel like the issue is being addressed regardless of the situation.  They're not just gonna start tossing blame around.  That would be terribly unprofessional.

This is how I would interpret that message:

We admit there is a higher than normal player disconnection rate.  However, we do not know at this time if this is our fault or not. We're trying to determine if this issue is real, then we're trying to determine if the issue is on us.  We are working (with our service providers and developers) to find out what, if anything, is actually going on, because we don't see what the problem is on our side, if there is one, as of yet.

"Working to resolve the issue" doesn't necessarily mean WGT has to DO anything.  It could simply be a data center server dropping packets at certain times, or a browser handling traffic in a slightly different way or one of any number of things.  There are lots of possibilities.  What I'm saying is don't just blame the one that's directly in front of your face.  And if you do, well then at least have the decency to be civilized about it.  It's not a witch trial.  Help them fix it, don't yell at them. Yelling is for kids and sporting events.

Everyone complains about WGT. But there would be a LOT more complaints if WGT was suddenly gone tomorrow.  With all it's eccentricities, it's still the best golf game available, on any platform, bar none.  If you love this game like I think most of you do, then do you want to be the guy that tears them down, or the one who helps to build them up?

And I can of course admit there could really be a problem with WGT itself.  If that's true and it's taken that long to fix, I can only imagine how deep-seeded it is.  That means it's difficult to consistently reproduce, and if that's true then it's next to impossible to fix it.  It doesn't mean they aren't doing anything, it just means they haven't found the solution yet.

Judging by that response, they may not have even found the problem yet.  What I can promise you though, is that nobody is doing nothing about it.

Thanks for replying.  Take care.  Maybe fix all that white space? :P

Still getting blue screens since update.  Additionally, I'm not getting a blue putting grid which is frozen and doesn't allow me to change view to reverse/normal/ or pitch in CONJUNCTION with not being able to change putter distance or club.

This doesn't always happen but when it does you cant putt.  Also, the lock/unlock grid on putts imo is rather useless.  Honestly, I don't see the point.  If you're so far away that you feel the need to move around the grid you come face to face with the fact that WGT camera angles are the determining factor at how accurate (if at all) the movement actually is.

I still find it far superior to find the straightest camera angle available and rapidly hit the space bar to constantly reset the dots for the truest form of break/speed etc.

Additonally, it seems they have drastically changed the speed and flow of dots making it extremely challenging to correctly line up the putt.  I for one hope they will be making some more changes to fix all the above soon.

In the meantime the game, at least for me, is unplayable.  Will be back in several days/week or more and see if any positive progress has been made.

    Cheers!  Sean.

    PhiEaglesFan:
I rarely play multiplayer games nowadays.

Well I do. I have twice as many AS rounds as RRs and can tell you from first hand experience that something is very, very wrong with this format. It changed with the update that introduced that stupid multiple view option on the green. Not saying that is the cause, just referencing the starting point of the AS misery.

I do not have connection problems. I don't have meter issues. I know how to recognize a user's plight versus a WGT issue. Trust me, the mess that is AS now is not coming from the connectivity of those that play. Explain, please, how now if I go to view an opponents bag, I get the full run of end of game messages and a blue screen when I hit Continue. I doubt that's a connectivity issue. Or how about getting booted from a lobby simply by declining an invitation to another game? Again, I doubt that's a connectivity issue.

It is particularly frustrating to read from some how thankful they are for the addition of a few baubles when the real issues keep on keeping on. The issues at hand are not hard to replicate and verify.

YJ-  you've been around long enough and know this game as well as anyone, so your sage advice and insights are always welcomed.

Maybe we should just admit WGT is like the child that gets caught in the lie red handed, yet won't admit to it.  Without a doubt, the A/S format is a mess right now, and anyone with some sort of intelligence knows it's not exclusively on our end, its our host the naughty little child that lies.

The biggest step in teaching a child to own up to a mistake, is to have them admit those, and move on to adulthood. Hopefully our hosts can do the same once they fix the mess that they've made.

Thanks for immediately responding to the commentary slider.  You didn't even let that slide one update.

You ignore the fact the On/Off toggle/Volume was missed by WGT in the first place!

It should have been in the original release of the commentary feature.
