    11BC2:
Putter > Driver > Wedges > Irons > 3wood, unless you have CR to burn then get the wedges before your Driver.

    I beg to differ!

Short game pays, thus wedges are my first recommendation. Putter first  would mean a cheap putter, probably before the player even knows how to putt. And, the Starter putter is much better than the Starter wedges and woods!

Second, a driver only if you have credits to burn! A 3WD is a budget alternative, just a few yards less at a third of the price - and you have a second quality shot on long fairways.

And, to come back to the subject, the Rossa is my coveted one and only mate. Next choice would be the L70 Versa, but I won't pay the price.

    Now there it is Paul, the best putting advice of all. A bunch of great wedges improve putting stats faster and better than anything else. Fact of life  ;-}

Absolutely right - the best advice here so far - the closer you get to the hole on your approach, the more putts you will make.  Such a simple game sometimes   lol

    SweetiePie:
As for my average being one round

In fairness SP. I did not look at your score history, but I know in the past all you played was Par 3 & 5 courses, So I will take your word that you have 50 rounds on others, albeit baby tees. My point is it is a manipulated average, and I would guess you bail on any round that will up the average, which is fine, but again misleading.

How WGT had the stupidity to include red tee rounds to count towards averages is beyond me, no-ones fault for exploiting that.....but I do not see the point.

I have played with a few great putters, and the sink 20 foot breaking putts easier than I sink a dead straight 5 footer! That is the key to scoring well and something us mere mortals can only dream of.

In my experience,u have no clue at all about hitting good enough approaches until you reach atleast L80. Putter was the first thing i bought from proshop,a level 35+ ghost and still using it at L97 as a legend.

At lower levels and tiers, the main priority is saving pars instead of hitting birdies.Unless of course you are blessed with abundant natural talent so evident in WGT these days.So a good putter always helps when your approaches are 20+ ft from the pin.

I followed the path 11BC2 suggested with the exception of 3w,a G20 which i bought almost the same time frame as the L58 G20 Driver.

Same applies to putting (at least until L40). And, as I said, the Starter wedges are absolute crap while the Starter putter is quite good, except for the balance (concerning looong putts).

About wedges...If you still have the starter driver (as I do) you only use a wedge for 3rd shot on par 5s that you can't reach in 2, and short game if you miss the green. So really just a 64 degree will be enough to cover those shots. I got a second wedge and have so far used it less than the 3WD even.

A driver also gets you closer to the hole, if you can use short irons or even wedge for your approach instead of long irons, hybrid or 3WD. Especially with the starter gear that has almost no backspin whatsoever and doesn't stop well on greens from far away.

I couldn't agree with you more. As for the point, I only know how it relates to me. I don't play much anymore, other interests and less time. I've been here a long time and my avenues for fun and interest are ever changing. Birdies and eagles are fun and make me happy, and to be able to enjoy them with limited concentration is comfortable. As for playing in the most demanding penal conditions...been there, done that...for about 6 years. It is not enjoyable any more, it is work, not fun. I also have an odd desire to see for myself just how low my manipulated, baby average can go...for my interest only not for any of the other perceptions others may have....it is to me the same game of going low in CTTH except it has putting. None of it is for any other reason than what you have just read.

I just had a look at his(11BC2) stats - awesome and all in 6 months...........and only 360 ranked rounds.
