I play stroke play matches on mobile, and so many times now, my opponents forfeit on the last hole or second to last when they feel they can't win the match anymore. But why? You get XP from completing the match.

Also, and I'm not sure about this but, it seems I only get 95 XP for a 9 hole match when my opponent forfeits (or disconnects) and I finish on my own, instead of 205 or 210 I think it is when we both finish the match.

One reason that many do is so they do not negatively impact their average score.

They should better know that this is a shortsighted viewpoint. Because the average is calculated from a limited no. of our best scores in a tier, higher scores will be eliminated sooner or later - rather sooner ;)

The XPs, OTOH, stay and help to level up.

These matches on mobile does not count towards your average score even if you complete them. They do not affect your stats in any way. All you have is a "Win-Loss-Tie counter". But you will get the loss anyway if you forfeit so why not just finish the last hole and get the XP?

    I couldn't agree more.

Because people are stupid.  I find this to be the answer more often than not.
