Think there is a rather simple way to improve the quantity vs quality balance. You could just have an 'x' number of scores counted bit like the tier system. Quality play will be rewarded but it would still give CCs willing to spend $$,multiple tryouts to improve their saturated score(which should suit WGT).

I still might not play in it though lol

    vandasey:
I think you may not fully understand our ethos, its not about spending loads of money on credits. Noone in our club is asked, forced, guilted or expected  to buy passes.

So you're saying that people haven't been kicked out of your CC, because they wouldn't participate in clashes, that you don't have the minimum amount of XP points one has to earn on a weekly or monthly basis and that your CC didn't ask a farmer to resign the club during the harvest season (cause he wouldn't be able to contribute enough points) and then rejoin, when the season is over? I heard otherwise from a trusted friend, who used to be a member, so I beg to differ with the bolded statement.

Nonetheless, it's totally up to the owner and the rest, how to run your club, just don't write BS about it.

I also agree with what Dazza (my Boss ;-)) and a few others wrote. The system is gravely flawed, but it is how it is, so to each whatever they choose to do, play in it or not, spend or not. I don't care if 1 single CC wins enough of these for each member to get that GP (I have no use for it, cause the level of forgiveness is waaaaaay too much for an off ding putter like myself). I personally believe, that even with the system we now have, a group of 20 gifted and fast playing individuals would take down any CC, if they put in around 5000 cr  and 15 hours each. But why would they?

I agree with Dazza that making it under par scoring would improve things.  It would also retain the only grain of gold amongst the dross, that less good players can make a big difference to the outcome.  For instance two 32's would still be at least as good as a 29 so numbers of players/rounds would still be important, just not the only factor.

I also think alosso has been pretty much right throughout this.

He has said if The Georgian really want change to this "event" they have to stop spending, not stop winning.  Of course this would mean that they wont win but that's not the point.

If, as they claim, they want this event to be different/better they would have to stop being by far the biggest contributers to it succeeding(?) in the current format. Wgt will change it when it stops making them money.

As it is now wgt would be as well having auctions rather than "events" for these putters.

    Actually no, you are incorrect.

Firstly, noone has been kicked out for specifically not playing in the Clash. Some members dont like or enjoy the clash. I'm sure you're now going to say you spoke to someone who said they were, blah blah blah. The fact will be that if they were kicked out it would be for a number of reasons and not just simply because they don't Clash.

The farmer who you are referring to actually emailed our owner to say that he wouldnt be around for a while due to harvest and OFFERED up his seat whilst he way unable to play. He has a seat fully available to him upon his return to the game.

You might wander why I know the above to be fact being that I'm just a member and the Directors and Owner make the calls, the fact is we speak openly about all removals in the forum. So before you start throwing stones, get your facts straight. I know nothing about your club and therefore I won't start using hearsay, rumour or the words of a former disgruntled member to be fact, I suggest you do the same.

Everyone in the club enjoys participating and enjoys winning. Granted, some spend to excess but that is a choice of theirs and theirs alone. We only ask, as do many of the bigger clubs, that each member uses their free pass daily. I for example have probably only bought 5 or 6 passes since joining WGT in 2012 and I'm still in the CC.

We know the format of the Clash is flawed and many of our members have emailed WGT with suggestions. But whilst the format remains the way it is, we will continue to participate within the rules and win. As long as we have members willing to play, we will.

    Thanks for your support.

    Nice thought! *grins*

But, that would endanger the putter's status price of 400,000 cr.

Eric elaborated on the page before that 10 players spent 11500 crs. From that number, 350 players would be necessary to finance the putter's nominal value, more people than any CC has.

Thus, the expected price would be lower, and only one CC would spend it. BTW: Would they, for the sake of one member?

Lol, I wasn't really suggesting it but two things:

I think Eric didn't factor in ball usage, although I realise that wouldn't make enough difference to your calculations.

To make it more comparable to what we now have though, sealed bids one winner but all bids are kept by wgt ;)).

The Georgian wins because quite frankly if the members are not performing day in day out, buying passes, they get kicked to the curb.

I was in the club about a week, during a tourney my putter pal went.

When investigating this it became apparent I was not in a country club anymore.  After personally emailing the owner several times, she responded to only one wishing me well with breast cancer tests.  Then told me it must have been mistaken identity why I was booted out.  GUTLESS more like.

No I would not want to be part of such a ruthless driven endurance club. Give me my club anytime, with people with feelings, who care, who share and we may not win the golden putter, but we also don't have to keep looking over our shoulder

So I can only talk from experience - your okay if your face fits (or your wallet) - mine didn't

So vandasey says the members are not forced etc etc etc to buy club passes, yet this message appears on the owners status :-       club mesages

Save purchasing passes for Club Clashes.
