Is this a bug, or a lying lie? And, yes, I know I aimed wrong and hit wrong. I have an annoying little alarm that is annoying, and it annoyed me. But, I'm pretty sure the final result was not all of my doing. Went from a little annoyed, to a lot annoyed.

" I have an annoying little alarm that is annoying, and it annoyed me."

.....on an up note, at least something worked as advertised...:)

The second and subsequent shots from the bunker appeared to be with the ball embedded in the bunker wall, I have no idea how a shot like that would play but am not too surprised to see it taking a few whacks to get out.  In real life sideways would probably have been the only option.  Whether the ball would ever actually be there in real life is questionable though.

The first bunker shot is a head scratcher, that was clearly from sand and should have come out normally.

After that lovely hole-in-one I can well imagine you were slightly less than delighted.

    TopShelf2010:
Not sure if this is a bug or not.

I always thought SA bunkers never really played accurate with respect to how close to the walls you are. There are some places a 64W gets outs and by the look of the lie, unless the shot went straight up, you weren't getting out hitting into that wall. The backwards or sideways moves should be in play more often.

Actually been there and found out(the hard way) that you have to play sideways/backwards from it.

Think the bunker at St.Andrews might be one at #10 where too close to face u need to get the 64W out. Cant play 56W.

I agree about it being similar to those St Andrews bunkers. When I did finally get it pop out, it almost looked like an uel shot.

Oh well, learned something new. And here I am thinking I know how to play out of sand and bunkers :-(

Nice HIO,  the right way to play that shot is, 1st  the spin of the ball (red dot)  need to be between the sand and the ball… not full back spin like U did… and 2nd and more important U need to ding the shot… next time try that !

I went back..and replicated (best I could) the same shot. Same results. I tried full spin, and no spin. Flopped, too. All failed. I watched the video is slow motion and the ball is hitting the wall. Stepper than it looks. On my 10th shot, I hit the full power wedge and it went 5 yds (after roll out) out and left, too.

Oh...and I dinged every attempt the second time :-)

I will go back and try the spin you mentioned, though.

I just chalk it up to lesson learned. Avoid that bunker, and turn my motion detectors off when I play.

In real golf that lie in the front wall would most likely have to be played sideways, back into the bunker or even have to be dropped for unplayable ball. Good to see the game seems realistic in that regard.

Also after the first shot that went nowhere, why not even try to hit it sideways out of the bunker?
