    firetrucky:
but instead of only complaining maybe we should offer some suggestions to make it better.

Fair enough and a good point, but so many have already been made.  It has been going on for months and apart from one half hearted fairly meaningless nod, no change has happened.

In the end it is about quantity of pass buying, and that is the main gripe of many. Personally I would not touch it, in a serious way, if WGT only aligned us with clubs that had the same number.  What I would never do is buy a pass to "win" (the term sits so uneasily in this LOL).

Some others see it different, and fair enough as their club and their shout.  It is why top clubs (using a better measure) and good players just generally stay away though.

I say all that without going through all the players and mean no disrespect to anyone anywhere, just that skill is not a part of  this chase in anyway.  Some go for that - also fine.....

    firetrucky:

I have fell into the trap as well and jumped on the bandwagon and complained, but instead of only complaining maybe we should offer some suggestions to make it better.

There have been plenty of suggestions from numerous people in threads over the numerous clashes.  Each clash has a similar thread and a few additional ones too.  Ideas on how to tweak the current format to make it as fair as possible.  Split into tiers based on member numbers, use only the top x% of scores, use player's average score are just a few that come to mind.

All falls on WGT's deaf ears though.  Most of us have now come to accept that it won't change any time soon

I will be motivating my club to stay the heck away from this event entirely until we have a reason to participate in it again

Point one being, why should WGT break through their principle NOT to offer anything useful as prizes? As long as the winners are proud to be fish, nothing will change.

Point two: No CC can hinder it's members to enter a Clash - this "CC" contest is NOT in the owners' hands.

False. Most CC have their own private forum. Some members of them know each other in RL, by Skype or others means and can organize and coordinate an action.

How do you think the Georgian CC owner chooses who will get the damn golden putter ?

Answer is simple. In all walks companies have opt out policies. Too much to ask WGT for an opt in rule and to be honest they would say same for opt out . But that bloke who spends every working day trying to get THE BANK up and running then have him filter through requests from owners who want to OPT OUT. Those who want in are in and those who don't. .........don't

wgt   should let a club win the gold putter just once and give some other club a chance.

I wonder why Wgt don't organise it so we can watch the top clash players play in these events like they do other tournaments?  Imagine how many would tune in to see x play bop5 20 times with scores from 37-42!

On a similar vein, what has been the best clash?  Was there one where it was neck and neck until a superb piece of buying finally swung it, real edge of the seat stuff?  Or have they all been processional?  Remember clash 3?   I certainly don't, In fact the only one I do remember is 1 which was won with a bit of imagination and cheating.

These may keep the money rolling in but do nothing to promote this as a game you can do well at with skill, practice or even luck; in these cash is not only king but also the only effective tool.

Now that it is over maybe those of us who do not care about the clash can play some golf. I do not know about anyone else but while the clash is going on it makes it hard to play outside the clash. I guess the server is not big enough to carry all the traffic created by the clash.

Said it before and will say it again Format for the clashes suck
