    oldbones29:

    vandasey:

You're aware that we (the Georgian) mainly use the Clash as an in-house competition right?

I couldn't give a stuff about the golden putter, I'm after the 2k, 3k and 5k credit rewards in our 3 in house divisions based on tier. Not to mention the sleeves of balls and passes.

But to score as many points as you do, and only 12 super passes, your members are buying passes to play... so your club  has fallen into WGT's money pit. You could make an in house competition without the clashes.

Vandassey has tried to relate to you why The Georgian plays in the clash as they do. From reading a lot of your reply's I get the feeling that no matter what he says it is not going to help you understand. You are to hung up on WGT being a money grabber. You keep whining that people should not buy extra passes for an event established by WGT with their rules. We have never said the clash is a good format but this is America where each person has to the right to spend their money any way they want. (within the law) Just like it is the right of a corporation to make money. I have never seen on the news that you held a picket sign and stood in front of Microsoft, Apple, Exon etc, etc, because they are making to much money.

Your premise that by boycotting the clash and not playing or spending will fix the problem is flawed. There will always be people with the mindset to play in the clash so let them. It is your right not to play in the clash or even play on WGT Golf. Where you step over the line is calling names, degrading those that do want to play, and whining all the time about an event you do not even need to participate in.

So, if your premise is I will whine until WGT drops the clash....then you are doing a good job of it. Will they drop it...who knows but until they do let each WGT CC play as they like.  Personally, I am getting tired of the same old lines of crying over something that is just a game. Please, just play the game...it is just a game.

    This post isnt from America;

Do as you please and use WGT clash for club comp, we at SEL have our own tournaments as i suspect you do.

One issue though, we use 1 WGT tourny (9 hole single play), for a tournament, and one of our members was disconnected from this weeks through fault of WGT (again), its meant hes out of our tournament (unless im nice), and hes also out of running in the South African qualifying in the fantastic NATIONS CUP, which is ran expertly and far more exciting than THE CLASH. He wrote to fantastic CS to ask if he could be put back in, but computer said no!.

WGT run a programme, same RGs, same weeklies, same monthlies and also the clash. Where all they do is change courses and rake it in, without country clubs i would rather lick urine off a thistle than play this game.

Point being.........has anyone been disconected from a clash round, prob not as then folks may think twice about buying passes, and we cant have that can we.

I suppose Wgt is not going to change the Clash.

How about the idea you can still play Without Passes.  Just like a normal comp with the points system.  Still have the passes for double points etc,  but others can also play without buying a pass.

You can still have the option to buy a pass for the extra points and I'm sure the Passes will be purchased still

Might stop all the arguments too    lol

To tell the truth...myself and my club members are over these clashes.WGT is just soaking us for balls and passes ...they're like lawyers....they have their hands in everybodys pockets but their own. They could give us balls that last longer and it would not cost them anything but i would bet a dollar to a donut that will never happen because greed is the name of the game.

I'm not sure if you mention why it's flawed or not, perhaps:

    DanielT5:
There will always be people with the mindset to play in the clash so let them.

was the reason?  If so that is flawed, as a good capitalist you must see there is a number where the clash would not make money and be scrapped (or changed into a tournament where skill at this game plays a part) and that number is not 0.  The Georgian not playing would make the biggest difference as they contribute most to the clash.

    DanielT5:
It is your right not to play in the clash or even play on WGT Golf. Where you step over the line is calling names, degrading those that do want to play, and whining all the time about an event you do not even need to participate in.

It is also "our right" to criticise wgt for putting (not as in what you go with the gold thing) so much effort into a tournament (?) that is not based on skill while at the same time cutting others that are, uel for example.  It is also "our right" to criticise wgt for putting so much effort into a tournament (?) that is not based on skill while many problems with other forms of gameplay remain unfixed and/or ignored (see many threads for details, I've not time to list them).

    DanielT5:

It's an auction, and most would prefer to play the game.  By the way I'd reckon yours is up there with the most whining posts in this thread.

    Have fun.

In fits of laughter here reading the same foaming-at-the-mouth garbage from the usual suspects every single time one starts.

Every member of my own CC has played in at least one event whenever they are on - not spending a dime on passes and receiving free complimentary ones from WGT for each win.

Being low in numbers  number it's fun trying to get a 'W' against those Country Clubs with a far higher membership.

Play / don't play in the CC clash. It's up to each individual CC and the members within.
