Chambers, Chambers, Chambers... All the time. No fun, I´m out.

We had Bo5 - a perfect place to score!

But, interest in the CC seems low - we're far out of the Top 100 this time.

Yeah I think much of the criticism is simple frustration that WGT don't organise anything else nearer what was really asked.  Is what it is and anyone that goes for it fine......

I would be interested how the Georgian use it for an internal comp if honest though - now it's mentioned.  I genuinely can't think of one good reason to buy a pass for this or even play in it seriously (you get half the XP of a tourney anyway??)........

What others do is fine as their choice entirely, but as it's raised ...

Jim I would like to ask ?

How good are they against other clubs in match play ?

    food for thought !

Looking at play history i think fine if you agree to stay away from car park and use those bonny red ones

Here's what a real CC Clash looks like.

Exactly, and what CC's have been doing for years.  It's not so difficult to set up and maintain.  See also the excellent competitions Alberto & Pierolitfiba provide CCs and players too. WGT also wins there as usual via the ball usage.  Of course WGT can see these taking place and know what we've been begging for years in terms of Inter CC matches.  This kind of format was probably discussed when they initially looked at a CC v CC setup but quickly shelved for this more profitable alternative.

WGT teased us by bringing in the passes originally.  "Gain XP for your club and reap the benefits from moving up the CC levels".  That the leveling system was quickly found to have many flaws with no forecast in place on how it would develop.  It is in fact a smokescreen for what their endgame was all along for these passes, to make as much $$ via this ridiculous 'competition'  They even have the cheek to still list 'Bank' as an option on your CC page.

The simple fact is that every clash see the same negative feedback, and there is no sign of it changing or stopping so WGT obviously don't really give a toss what we think here.  I'd never tell another CC how to run their business but The Georgian have more power to invoke a change than any other CC.  They are buying more than double the passes than anyone else.  Yes they have an in house comp with big prizes but in effect they are running their own pass buying race and doing WGT's leg work for them.  Why not just offer that prize in some other comp that doesn't involve members filling the WGT coffers?

I certainly wouldn't approve of any tournament in my CC that was based on members buying CC passes but each CC to their own.  To be honest even if The Georgian all stop buying passes, WGT wouldn't pull the clashes as sales would go down but they would still see sales.

If WGT had set up a fair system, the many players and CCs that are boycotting these unfair Clashes would have got involved.  Considering the price of balls verses the price of CC Passes, WGT would probably have come out of the other end with a better turnover anyway.  Shame.

A curiosity: is it possible to sell the Martian Putter?

No. One of the owners confirmed it earlier.

This is because it's in the "CC Rewards" section, and only "Clubs" may be resold.

    Smart.....

Vandassey has tried to relate to you why The Georgian plays in the clash as they do. From reading a lot of your reply's I get the feeling that no matter what he says it is not going to help you understand. You are to hung up on WGT being a money grabber. You keep whining that people should not buy extra passes for an event established by WGT with their rules. We have never said the clash is a good format but this is America where each person has to the right to spend their money any way they want. (within the law) Just like it is the right of a corporation to make money. I have never seen on the news that you held a picket sign and stood in front of Microsoft, Apple, Exon etc, etc, because they are making to much money.

Your premise that by boycotting the clash and not playing or spending will fix the problem is flawed. There will always be people with the mindset to play in the clash so let them. It is your right not to play in the clash or even play on WGT Golf. Where you step over the line is calling names, degrading those that do want to play, and whining all the time about an event you do not even need to participate in.

So, if your premise is I will whine until WGT drops the clash....then you are doing a good job of it. Will they drop it...who knows but until they do let each WGT CC play as they like.  Personally, I am getting tired of the same old lines of crying over something that is just a game. Please, just play the game...it is just a game.

    Dan

Excuse me Sir, I love competition and I made sport all my life (I'm 61). There are two cornerstones in competion: It has to be even, there should be reasonable and reachable prizes, proportionate to partecipation and efforts. Do you find in Clashes these two cornerstones? I don't. Very few can be competitive, nobody get prizes, except for the ridicoulous Martian one. To tell the truth, I consider yr massive partecipation at Clashes, quite suspect, unless you Georgian are a bunch of idiots! lol

Hey T - no namecalling necessary!

While I don't agree to their arguments, much less their actions,

    - They are free to do what they want!

    - They have fun!

    All the best to Georgian!

With all due respect Tamsach, no BS has come from us.

There has been a lot thrown at us, case and point by you saying our numbers are 'suspect'. We have a membership of which about 237 have played at least 1 round in the past  24 hours. We have high numbers in the Clash and the Weekly XP for this very reason... people in our club actually play consistantly.

Time for some facts as clearly opinions don't get considered here. The weekly; based on above 237 players participation every day = 208,560 points minimum. Thats based on 237 members simply using their 880 point consecutive daily play bonus. Thats not even considering the points for the round, or awards or anything else. If you look at our weekly so far we are on 1,223,000 - after 5 days (rounding it based on where the weekly is at the moment) using my calculation above of only considering our daily contant play of 880 points per member we should be on 1,042,800. That leaves us with a shortfall of only 178,000 which is easily made up once you consider I score on average 1300-1400 per day by using my free pass on my first round during an 18 hole tournament. If the 237 in our club did the same as me and scored 1300 points per day by only using the free pass we would be on 1,543,750 points by now. Thats how we get high scores, consistant playing. Some play less (like me), some play more (like many of our Champion players for example) but it all evens itself out in the wash.

So, there are some facts for you. You can try and pick it apart if you wish, but the facts are the facts. Now if you can stop questioning why we have a 'suspiciously high' XP number.

Mitleid bekommt man umsonst, Neid muss man sich verdienen.

I would do it in the same way like the Georgian if I would walk in their shoes.

WGT makes the rules, so it´s the fault of WGT that such a clash is an auction instead of a competition. Who is able to pay most wins the golden putter. A putter that is nothing less than a WGT-made cheat. Cause in real golf there is no putter that is more than double as good as all the other putters on the market.

For us from Walhall there are no prices to win. But some of my members have fun with it. And again we have won all 6 rounds we played till now. That makes us to underdogs that are able to bite. I guess that is what my members like while they play the clash. If my members have fun I as the owner am happy. Also that I think it would be possible to make such an event much better than it is now.
