Like the basketball scouts say "you can't teach 7 feet", I say "you can't teach 250 yards".
On BoP5 it's an easy choice. In overall play, you lose a bit of stopping power with the 97, but even with FBS and a couple percent of choke, it'll still go the distance you want and not roll forever. If you're a proficient putter, the 97 is a much better way to go because of sheer versatility, and what little precision you lose by choking up a few yards, you can make up for with a 15 foot putt.
