From a WGT "business" perspective, it's not messed up at all

That's about as naive as you can get. There is no business perspective throwing crap like CC clashes out there. They're just playing to the stupidity of those that partake.

    OK Jim...point noted:

WGT is in the "business" of making money...and it does. While I won't address the intelligence of the consumer, I will instead point you to the plethora of "reality" TV shows, like the Kardashians, the Duggars, Real Housewives of several cities, Hockey wives, etc.  These shows add no tangible value to our lives..but make a ton of $$$ for the TV stations and the participants. When the Duggars were cancelled (and the perverted child molester went off to rehab), it was estimated that TLC would lose $19M per season...that means a lot of folks were watching this drivel. Perhaps I am "naive", but if WGT's goal is to make money, then the clashes make sense. There will always be participants.. just like there will always be people willing to sit their butts down to watch "reality" on TV, and dutifully pay the cable bill for the "privilege".

ps. For those of you that compare these shows to sports, or movies, or music, I would remind you that the latter requires a modicum of actual talent...the only things required of a reality TV star, is to have a good publicist and no shame.

I'm gonna highlight another part of Jim's post:

On the contrary - that's the company's only perspective, I'm sure!

More critique is vocalized with every clash but they seem to be coming sooner every time. Why should they do so if not for business purpose? It's certainly not to stuff Georgian with Golden Calves!

Take me as an example: I've been playing nine Clash rounds with  free passes and buying two sleeves in three days, thus using up a ball per day. Usually, it's one to two weeks between purchases. Considering my reserved position towards the Clashes, this is very sucessful business, isn't it?

OTOH, I wonder why those who don't care about the Clash do gather in this thread, Isn't that "caring about the Clash" at it's best?

I don't see the point of getting frustrated with who finishes top of the who bought the most passes this week list.....Really that is all it is.  Some one wants to set a club up geared to that and go for that then fine I say as we all know the deal.....

I would not touch it if they paired clubs with similar numbers guaranteed, and that's because I would not encourage buying passes to have WGT hold my hand up.  If anyone wants that go phone 3100 we care pty ltd - calls charged at $2 a minute / connection charges apply.....  Be far quicker, cheaper and no less daft.

Wait until they introduce coins.........Would not put it past New Ideas to out do themselves.

Others want to see it different fine, but it's why most stay well away from it.

A game's outcome is not only related to the member numbers, it's more the activity involved. AFAIS, we were mostly matched with CCs of the same success, 1-0, 2-0 etc, then 5-1. Nobody knows if the points gained before are in the mix, too, but it's certain that the opponent must be available when the search is on.

Only once in each of the last two clashes was the match uneven. During #12, we were beaten by a single player (after midnight IIRC), now, we crushed a 6 members CC.

Again, I failed to note the number of members playing, but IIRC no more than 5 in each Clash and 10 - 15 in total.

This will make the difference to the more successful CCs. It looks like 200 of Georgian have played in the last two days - imagine how many points and XPs they have amassed!

    (200 players x 50 points x 11 clashes = 110,000 Clash points)

    +1

I have no issue with anyone who plays to the rules and good on The Georgian for winning.

I do not see the point as there is no real benefit (tee markers etc are embarrassing and a Golden Goose putter that simply lies on the attributes)

I will never play a clash under the current format nor will many. I suppose the stability of Multiplayer games may aid players playing the clashes out of boredom, but I would rather not play at all.

Yes roll on the coins, you think the clashes are bad..........
