I was never behind in the match, his iron play was great it meant that I had to be sure and get somewhere as close as possible, which in the main I did but my putter worked really well and put pressure on his putting. Tactical battle but good fun, he was a nice guy and very unlucky at the end on the 17th he hit his tee shot in the water and was given a miserable drop shot out of a sand lie. Three matches to go. I think we (BD) have to win them all to win the match.
Either way, as I noted yesterday, I have never before gotten this deep into an inter-club match without the other captain (Nico for this one) and I not having to deal with a problem. That is a credit to all participants on both teams.
AntoGarcia reported he defeated BarryBelfast 2 UP. He also said they both were heading for a 57 so it must have been one hell of a match. Antonio has been killing everyone in our club recently so this doesn't surprise me. Congrats to Barry for keeping it close.
Just to echo Tom's sentiments. Great Inter CC match so far, with only 2 games to go. Match can still end in all 3 possible ways (win, lose, draw). Thank you all players for a great effort.

All games played went off without a hitch and all reports are of great sportsmanship and friendly play. Lovely to see a comp go so well.
It was good for our young / small club to take SEL down to the last couple of matches. perhaps you would be up for a rematch in the future some time?

Great match ... closer than I expected when I agreed to it.
Good sportsmanship all around and Nico was great to work with. I get asked by others after we've done a match whether I would play against them again. SEL is a definite yes. (There has been a no, actually.)
I'm not inclined to pressure the last match to play. Up to them.
