Why not allow the player to make his mistakes..?

Isn't that how it's supposed to be...

A L93 player playing low level equipment and expecting precision of a higher leveled piece of equipment. I'd say the player's mistake was allowed to be made.  ;-)

Even with the best equipment you can never truly expect a shot to turn out the same way every time.  Even if it's only due to the variable wind info,  i.e. 3-5 mph ,  could be 3mph could be 5 mph  could be 3 when you first hit the shot and gust up to 5 mph while the ball is in the air for all we know.   Not to forget about shots that aren't hit at full power, did you really hit the same exact strength to recreate the same shot outcome from one 30 something yard shot?

In all seriousness, more precise/better equipment will get you more consistent distances on shots.

In my experience the higher the tier in an alternate shot, greater the wgt manipulation.I play the best vs champions, every thing clicks for me and mostly nothing for them in AS.Not that i am a "top" player, its just the way wgt has setup their software in alternate shot.

Funny as it is,most easy wins are against the champions for me.Especially when there is a single champion and 3 legends in AS.Poor guy is a sitting duck.WGT always punish the top tier. The reason i play only legend+ games mostly.

Most probably the reason "top" players dont play much AS.Besides of course  they are making tons of credits playing solo, why bother with free games.

There is no "top" player or "top"equipment in AS, just have to know how the wgt software behaves. Then things become a little easy.

I go through days, sometimes weeks where my irons perform like crap.. all over the place. I assume that happens to everyone.

That's when you have to rely on your putting skill (of which I have very little).. Most of the so-called "top" shooters are deadly with their putter.

If you can figure out how to putt, that'll negate most of your problems with VEM.

Exactly.  And, in my opinion, this is how it should be.  This is a computer game and can therefore be broken down into numbers: % of power, exact amount of spin applied, direction and strength of wind and so on.  But, it's representing a game with so many more variables that they have to build some variation into each shot.  You cannot hit a ball with a 5 iron using 95% power, full back spin, into a 5mph wind and expect it to turn out exactly the same every time.  Personally I'd stop playing here if every shot worked exactly as I thought it should, it would just be boring.

In real golf you have so many ways to make club head to ball contact slightly different, anyone who has ever played a round of real golf knows it's damn near impossible to make exactly the same shot twice.

WGT have tried to make a computer game have an element of feel, something that really isn't possible.  I think they've done a pretty good job of it though.

Moot is what most posts in these very informative conversations are....Wait....That doesn't make sense as far as "moot" goes.

Without any research into the exact definition I would say it's either already been mulled over and resolved or a Bovine with a lisp.

I'm goin' with the lisp because I ain't lookin' up the exact........Wait, Maybe it means the point really doesn't matter.....Hmmmmm...

I just mind F'ed myself......Neither here nor there. Could matter, Couldn't matter less.

                                      Moot.

^^^^ this resembles what I'm sure is a discussion at the highest levels in most governments... or maybe the WGT IT shop.

At any rate, In my post, I intended moot to mean: "to plead or argue theoretical or hypothetical cases, as an academic exercise."

neither of you know what you are talking about!

    Yiannis1970:

Good point, but correct me if i am wrong, we are talking about game's consistency not player's ability or equipment's accuracy.

    Cheers.

perhaps we are talking both..lot's of folks blame the "game's consistency" for poor outcomes..but with better equipment, more practice, etc, the game seems to become more "consistent" ...lol

anyway...moot point now, but good discussion..:)

HatcoJack..please don't ascribe your words, or anyone's words, to me. TY in advance.

Forgive me, but why is it moot ?

It may not be irrelevant to others, and they can certainly keep this thread alive with further discussion...but for me, I think I've made my points as best I can, so I now consider the issue at an end.

            Not really, apparently.

                      I got lost.

Now.....if I would have arrived would it matter? If I made a putt would it matter? If a meter stutters does it matter? I just figured something out!
