is there a difference between theses two? i'm not at L84 yet, but very curious to hear from the members who've used both putters.

I assume you are talking about the Rossa and the Ghost putters, I already had the Rossa and was interested in trying the Ghost so I rented it and I'm sure that wasn't enough time to get used to it but, I didn't like the 25 foot scale was hard to figure out, but I do prfer the 50 foot scale opposed to the 60 foot scale of the Rossa.

The other difference is the meter speed, the Rossa has a much slower meter than the Ghost does.

I have played for a whil now with the Rossa and like I said I only rented the Ghost for one day but for the price and how much I like the putter I already have I will be sticking with the Rossa.

haven't used the L84 Rossa Ghost but from what I have been told by people who have used both that the only true difference is the putting scale. And the much higher price of the Ghost. The L72 Redwood that i use has a scale of 15,45,90,150 and 300. While the
L84 Ghost has a putting scale of  15, 25, 50, 100, 150 and 300 feet. The other attributes including meter speed on paper any way look exactly the same. I believe it all comes down to which scale you feel most comfortable with. The Ghost does have 1 more increment that might make it a little better for the mid range putts from 20 to 30 feet or so but I can tell you the L72 Redwood is an awesome putter. My putting improved drastically since I started using it.  But I see that you are already using the L72 Redwood so you know just how good it is. As I just made level 84 about a week ago I was thinking about trying the Ghost but as I have gotten used to using the Redwood and am putting so much better with it I believe I will stick with what I have. And just learn to read the breaks better and become an even better putter. My distance control using Nivlac/WGTniv's avatar movement style of putting is really very good.Tthe main problem I have at times is just finding and playing the correct line.

No I believe he was talking about the Level 72 Redwood and the Rossa Ghost. By the way calling the Daytona just Rossa is a little misleading as both the Daytona and Ghost are Rossa putters. Rossa is a line of Taylor Made putters that also includes the Spider. Much like Titleist's line of Scotty Cameron putters. Many different putters in the same family.

There's more. I use it and I find the biggest difference is in how the ball rolls. The scales take some adjusting because I'm like you, btb-avatar movements all the way.The values are slightly different but close. The biggest difference I see is the forgiveness. The original Redwood and the Master Redwood are different the way the Ghost and the Master Redwood are only in reverse.

When the Master Redwood came out I got it and was a bit disconcerted by the accuracy. Basically it didn't forgive like the earlier version but was killer on the accuracy. The Ghost reverts back to the early Redwood version of forgiveness plus the way the ball actually rolls seems to be much truer. It's almost as if the Redwood accuracy and the early Redwood forgiveness were combined.  I like the putter.  :-)

    Great review YJ.

I use the Redwood and I really like it, and before that I was using the rossa. The scales are much better on the redwood compared to the rossa, although they do take a little getting used to.

I was considering getting the ghost for a trial - would you suggest the ghost over the redwood in your personal opinion?

    Cheers

Is it hard to get used to the new scale after using the redwood scale for  long?

No. They are very close as it is and the adjustment is slight and really only involves the 30 and 45 ft scales-they become 25 and 50. I spent a couple of hours mapping it on all green speeds and the numbers are very close to the Redwood.

@Sanco-I would say yes but give yourself more than a rental to learn it. I didn't feel comfortable with the Ghost for about 15-20 rounds. I couldn't believe the forgiveness compared to the master Redwood and it took a while to trust it.

Thanks mate. One last question if I may. When you refer to the master redwood do you mean the 2010 edition or the lower one? I have the 2010 ed and I was comparing it to that.

    Cheers

The Master is the one you have-the later one.
