longest putt

  I was playing in a tournament and sunk a 255 ft putt. Why didn't I get credit for that as my longest putt? It still has my longest putt as 56 ft. I have replay to prove it-- http://www.wgt.com/replay.aspx?ID=25c48a42-4309-4e01-91c4-a5700123a722

  Amazing shot!  It does look like you are on the fringe, which would mean it wouldn't count towards your longest putt.

  Amazing shot!  It does look like you are on the fringe, which would mean it wouldn't count towards your longest putt.

  Well, I suggest you hole it again from 250 ft...then you will be off the fringe and it will count..:)

  Great shot indeed. Sadly a putt on the fringe does not count and presumably would not count as a GIR.

  On a positive note I did once bury a 10 foot putt........but that was a long time ago.

  pffft...I buried a 12 ft putt yesterday...mind you, it took 3 shots to do it..

  As others have said a putt from the fringe  does not count as a putt as such. It counts as a holed out approach shot. And your recent activity reflects this. It says you holed a shot from 84.85 yards which is 255 feet- A great shot for sure. You must have really been on that day as you also made a hole-in-one on # 11.

  TM with an avg under 63, sinks a 255 foot putt for presumably an eagle on Andy 5, then holes Andy 11, and his only score that day is a full Andy 18 for a 122. What am I not getting here? lol

  I second that because the sound of "hit the flag" is there. But, from the green, the flag would be pulled...

  In the stats of that game, there would be two different putt numbers, too, as one counts the fringe putts and the other doesn't.
